Samantha Blue is a published singer-songwriter who has been performing from a young age. She currently works with various artists and songwriters at Soundworks Teaching & Recording Studio in Blue Springs, Missouri, as well as teaches piano and vocal lessons. Sam also teaches a songwriting course through Blue Valley Community College and organizes a Songwriters’ Night Out group.
Samantha has been writing songs for over 15 years, but only began pursuing her music full-time in 2001. Summer 2001, she released her first single, Guardian Angel, which was used for cancer advocacy and was sold at Relay for Life events in 9 states. The following year the Scottish country band Evangeline recorded “Missing Mississippi”, a song she co-wrote with two of the band members. In Fall 2004, she released her first full length CD entitle Big Blue Light of which the title track, “Big Blue Light” and “Same Ol Weather” were picked up by Inter Music Library in Los Angeles, CA. Samantha also co-wrote a song, “Being A Kid”, with her daughter, Tabitha, that is being release on a nationally distributed lullaby CD Fall 2006. Currently she has two songs on a documentary coming out January 2007 about basketball founder, James Naismith. Samantha continues to appear on numerous charts on Broadjam.com (Blues, Country, Folk, Region:Kansas, Region:South Central, Production:Ballads, Production:Female vocals, Fan Picks:90+ days).
