Now is the time to introduce, Samantha Jade.
Samantha Jade has been bubbling under the surface as an industry darling for years. Originally from Perth, Western Australia the 22 year old Australian starlet is already a veteran of the American music industry and has built a name for herself in the Australian market as the next big thing to come from Down Under being tagged as ‘the most polished star in waiting in Australian music history’ by the Sunday Telegraph.
Samantha Jade is not your average pop star. Beautiful? Yes. Soaring vocals? Yes. Great songs? Yes. But not many Australian artists can claim they have been signed by a major U.S. record company at just 16 years of age after being discovered at a family BBQ.
Samantha Jade has an incredible story to tell…. Born in 1987 to an Anglo-Indian father and a Scottish mother, her striking looks ensured a modelling career at a young age and she quickly became one of Europe’s most recognised faces but it was music that was her true passion and by age 9 Samantha was belting out soulful songs such as ‘Amazing Grace’ and Etta James’ ‘At Last’adding her own soulful riffs that would send shockwaves down your spine.
It was 2002 when Affinity West Entertainment came across the young songstress and her journey took her from her suburban home town in Perth to the bright lights of Hollywood that has been home to her for over 6 years.
Based in Los Angeles since 2003 Samantha Jade has created a name for herself as an established singer songwriter working with some of the biggest producers in the music industry including; David Guetta, Timberland, David Foster, Tricky Stewarts, Lil Jon, Rodney Jerkins and more but has spent the last 12 months refining her own style and sound and writing for high profile artists such as Ashley Tisdale and JoJo to name a few.
Vocally, Samantha has been compared to the likes of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Christine Aquilera and those that have heard her powerhouse vocals know this 5’2’ pocket rocket is the real deal.
In 2006 Samantha received international recognition having written and performed songs for movie soundtracks such as the highly successful, Step Up and writing Secret Love for Jo Jo on Disney’s blockbuster movie, A Shark’s Tale. She has performed alongside industry heavy weights such as Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Jay Z.
2009 is gearing up to be Samantha Jade’s breakthrough year, Samantha has chosen to go the independent route with the original team from Affinity West Entertainment that discovered her over 6 years ago and return home to the Australian shores to unleash her pop smash titled ’Secret’ which has been produced by Chris Judge and directed by Valerie Babayan.
