Samantha Nicole is an R&B/Pop singer and songwriter originally from the Bronx, NY. Samantha has been singing since the age of 3 and wrote her first song at age16. Samantha currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and is looking to establish herself as the music industries go-to songwriter for top of the line Pop & R&B music that transcends time. Samantha’s writing style can be compared to the likes of popular songwriters such as Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, Manuel Seal and Terius Youngdell Nash AKA The Dream.

A recent graduate of Berklee College of Music with a B.M. in Music Business, Samantha always knew that she wanted to have a career in music. Growing up as an only child in a single parent home, music was Samantha’s favorite pass time and her hope for a better future. Although Samantha primarily grew up singing in the church; at age 9, Samantha was one of two African American children, selected to sing for the New York City Opera Children's chorus, where she performed in several Opera's including La Bohem, Carmen and The Cunning Little Vixen. During that time she also participated in the DiCapo Opera Theater children's chorus and took voice lessons at the historic Harlem School of The Arts.

While attending Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory & Boarding School in Kingston, PA, Samantha was selected to be a member of the elite 28 member Chorale ensemble, The Madrigals, where she received training under the direction of John Michael Vaida, US Representative of the International Choral Network. With the Madrigals, Samantha toured Germany and England during the summer of her Junior and Senior years and was a featured soloist performing the traditional gospel song "He Never Failed Me Yet."

After highshool, Samantha attended the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY where she took classical voice lessons at the prestigious Eastman School of Music and also released her first album "Signs Point To" with the UofR female a cappella group, Vocal Point. In 2003 Samantha transfered to the world renown Berklee College of Music, where she received a scholarship based on her outstanding academic achievements in music business and voice.

While at Berklee, Samantha took music business courses with industry veterans, Jeff Dorenfeld (Tour manager for Chicago) and Sky Trouber (A&R for Motown). Samantha was head A&R for her college’s student run record label, Heavy Rotation Records, where she spearheaded the first Hip-Hop/Rock double disc CD release “Dorm Sessions: Vol. 3”. She also participated as a vocalist in several Berklee concerts, the advanced Gospel Ensemble “Overjoyed”, and opened up for Little Richard at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. In the summer of her junior year, Samantha completed an internship at Jive Records in NYC where she worked in the A&R department for industry trailblazers Mark Pitts (Usher, Ciara, Chris Brown) & Wayne Williams (R. Kelly, Raheem DeVaugn, Anthony Hamilton). While interning at Jive, Samantha began to collaborate with independent producers and soon discovered that she had a gift for writing songs. When Samantha returned to Berklee for her senior year, she put together her own band which consisted of Berklee’s best R&B, gospel and Jazz musicians and together they toured Boston singing her original material. Shortly into the tour, Samantha was discovered by Marcos Sainz, a producer from Spain who was looking for a female R&B/Soul vocalist for his CD project. After graduating from Berklee in 2006 with a B.M. in Music Business and Management, Marcos flew Samantha to Spain to record a new age Jazz, R&B, Soul & Gospel infused album called The Satya Project that the UK's Echoe's Magazine describes as "Pure quality that deserves a major release."

Since relocating to Los Angeles in Fall 2006, Samantha has worked in the music industry for Universal Music Group Distribution (Universal City, CA) in Urban Sales and Marketing. While working at Universal, Samantha was instrumental in helping to grow its first gospel division, Universal Music Christian Group, home of popular gospel acts, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Canton Jones and Shekinah Glory Ministry. Samantha has also established herself as an R&B recording artist having recorded with Grammy Award winning R&B artist, Brandy "Departed" (Right Here)--music video extra, Gospel Recording artist Elaine Norwood "No Weapon"--music video-extra and R&B Recording artist Jon B., commercial voiceover work which aired for 2 weeks on VH1.

Samantha is currently songwriting with popular urban music producers including Dre & Vidal (Ciara “Oh”, Usher “Caught Up” and Chris Brown “Yo”), Ivan & Carvin (Musiq Soulchild “Just Friends”, Keyshia Cole feat. 2 Pac “Play ya Cardz Right” ) and Prolyfic (Lupe Fiasco). She is also signed as a songwriter under Universal Music Publishing in the UK and is simultaneously working on her debut solo project scheduled to be released under Universal/Fontana in January 2010.
