SWING DANCING (I'm a slave to it, what can I say:) and Salsa dancing, going to the movies (another thing I'm a slave to:), love art-house indies, traveling and exploring new and exciting places, learning about other cultures and histories, hanging out with friends and family... if you knew them you'd want to hang out with them too!, taking pictures of friends and family, writing silly shoebox poetry, people watching, disneyland, reading a good book, going to the beach, going to concerts and listening to music, going to museums and art shows, going to plays, seasons and holidays... smiling and laughing! Some of the things that make me smile and laugh... tulips, the words 'serendipity' and 'buona sera signora', airports, crossword puzzles, using chopsticks, drive-in movie theaters, the smell of a campfire, karaoke, the color purple (eggplant purple), cymru, the fact that I can't tell a joke or story to save my life!, 50's diners, a new england fall and boston (this also includes the patriots and red sox:), pumpkin spiced lattes, color me mine, gimp bowling, renoir, being a klutz, cannolis, learning to knit, playing clue, tapas, the eiffel tower, argyle print, double-decker busses, my dog shannon, being seven years old...
Music
First of all I have to say Dean Martin is my hero!
And I love all the Rat-Pack, Glenn Miller, Big Band era stuff, Nat King Cole, Luis Armstrong, Luis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darrin as well as 50's and 60's oldies, Buddy Holly, Donovan, Elvis, the Beatles and such. Then there is my Country music side... I love Lyle Lovett, Sarah Evans, Rascal Flats, Nickel Creek, Patsy Cline, Alison Kraus, Alan Jackson, Dixie Chicks, Trick Pony, etc. I also have an 80's side and like Culture Club, INXS, Blondie, the Bangles, The Go-Go's, Pat Benatar, The Clash, Duran Duran, Talking Heads, David Bowie, U2 (love all their stuff since the 80's as well:), Queen... to name a few. Next we can jump to my strange and offbeat side which is musicals, obscure musicals (and not so obscure) that I grew up listening to... the Boyfriend, the Fantastics, Gypsy, Ragtime, A funny thing happened on the way to the forum, the King and I, Oliver, Kiss me Kate, Cabaret, Chicago, Rent, West Side Story, Camelot, etc. I have a new side I like to call boys with guitars... I've recently been introduced to Bob Schnider, Glenn Phillips, Teitur, Speachwriters llc... they are among these favs. I'm also a little Sountrack whore... French Kiss, Bewitched, Wicker Park, Shrek, Must Love Dogs, Swing Kids, Dazed and Confused, Pulp Fiction, Rushmore, Moulin Rouge, Benny and June, Romeo & Juliette (the 90's version), Beyond The Sea, Dirty Dancing, The Singing Detective, Midnight in the garden of Good and Evil, Grease, Grease 2 (and yes, yes I do know all the words:), Walk the Line, The Anniversary Party, Pretty Woman, St. Elmo's Fire... ok, tell me when you've had enough!
Lastly there are a few strays that deserve honorable mentions... the Corrs, Rilo Kiley, Weezer, Wyclef Jean, The Elected, Bright Eyes, The Strokes, John Mellencamp, The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Steve Lucky and the Rumba Bums, the Lucky Stars, Eddie Reed, Hollywood Combo, Hawksley Workman, Big Sandy, MIKA, Gwen Stefani, Mos Def, The Specials, Michael Buble, Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens, Jill Scott, Bob Marley, The White Stripes, Shane Macgowan, Travis, James Intveld, Norah Jones, Billy Joel, Pink Martini, The Pogues and Neil Diamond

Movies
If anyone asks me what my favorite movie is I will answer The Princess Bride without hesitation. It is my all-time fav. With that out of the way I really love movies so this is hard... I love anything from The Ice Storm to Someone Like You. From Hell and Notting Hill. The Goonies and Amelie. The Talented Mr. Riply and Election. Chicago and Bridget Jones Diary. Mad Hot Ballroom and Good Will Hunting. Better off Dead and Radio Days. The Maltese Falcon and Spirited Away. Dream for an Insomniac and Waking Ned Divine. Sabrina and Run Lola Run. The Godfather and Robbin Hood Men in Tights. Lost in Translation and The Man in the Iron Mask. Far From Heaven and The Spanish Prisoner. Pleasentville and Vertigo. Big Night and Scream. Moonstruck and Annie Hall. Sleepy Hollow and Best In Show. The Dreamers and Garden State. Rear Window and The Breakfast Club. Girls Just Want To Have Fun (although I'm not sure I should admit that) and Grosse Pointe Blank. Rushmore and Clue. The Usual Suspects and Swingers.... All classic Disney films. Holiday flicks like Scrooged, Christmas Vacation, Home for the Holidays, a Muppets Christmas Carrol, Yogi's First Christmas, A Christmas Story... Films with the words Dangerous and Beauty in them (Dangerous Beauty, Dangerous Liasons, Stealing Beauty, American Beauty, Stage Beauty, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind)... EACH movie listed in the soundtracks section of music above: )... and everything inbetween. It takes a lot for me to HATE a movie unfortunately... so this isn't even an appetizer!!
Television
Ok... guilty pleasures are as follows: Gilmore Girls, Will and Grace, That '70s Show, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, AbFab... I love the History Channel (durring the Holidays they have fun specials), the Travel Channel (Great Hotels and other Holiday specials) ... I'm too busy to watch any show religiously (there hasn't been a show that I've HAD to watch since Who's the Boss and Family Ties days:) Think I could use TiVo?!?! Oh yeah, one more thing: 'My Name Is Earl' is hilarious! Watch it please! :) :)
Books
Well, now this is a dilema because I love not only novels, but books of poems and I love plays too... so you'll just have to suffer through! My favorite book is Catcher in the Rye, I don't know why this is but it is... and I really like Memoires of a Geisha, Welcome to the World Baby Girl, The Other Boleyn Girl, Confederacy of Dunces, Geek Love, The Canterbury Tales, Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrel, The Princess Bride, The DaVinci Code, Superfudge!, Shopgirl (Steve Martin is brilliant), The Historian, Bridget Jones Diary, The Hobbit, The Notebook... these are some strays I love Kurt Vonnegut (Slaughterhouse Five, Cat's Cradle, Breakfast of Champions) Anne Rice (The Vampire Diaries was amazing) The Bronte Sisters and Jane Austen, Victor Hugo, Norah Roberts (she's fantastic), Toni Morrison, and recently I've been into James Patterson (The Jester in particular)... I know I've missed some but this covers the basics!
For poets I love Poe (The Raven is my favorite poem) I also Love Maya Angelou, Robert Frost, Anne Sexton (though she can be a bit dark) T.S. Elliot and Langston Hughs. For Playwrites you can't beat Tennessee Williams (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof... come on!) and Neil Simon (Lost in Yonkers, Biloxi Blues... hilarious and poingent) Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, Sartre's No Exit. And Finally Shakespeare... an entire page could be devoted to Shakespeare. For now I will just say that As You Like It is my favorite work of his.
