SAMAVAYO is a loose cannon! In search of their own distinctive sound, the Berlin quartet revolving around lead singer Behrang Alavi strayed from the Stoner Rock oftheir early days to an intermediate Pop phase, but eventually found their own unique sound. They label it “Fuel”, confidently commenting that “Fuel is to Berlin what Grunge was to Seattle”.
SAMAVAYO see “Fuel” as the musical translation of the melting pot, Berlin. Here, House, Country, Hip Hop, Rock, Heavy Metal and Dub music are concentrated to such a degree that, within a radius of 500 meters, one can fully delve into each of these scenes. SAMAVAYO can’t get enough of the infinite worlds of sound in their immediate surroundings. This openness and the subsequent fusion of all the various influences is the essence of what makes up SAMAVAYO.
After nine years and more than 300 performances, SAMAVAYO have developed a distinct profile which is recognizable in each of their songs. Pre-eminent vocals are equally complemented by hard guitar riffs and melodies which are catchy from the get-go. The main reason being the band’s energy – an energy which is vigorous, yet not destructive. The unorthodox rhythms distinguish SAMAVAYO from other Rock bands. However, SAMAVAYO do not discriminate – their sound unites, as a closer look at their name reveals: SAMAVAYO is Sanskrit for “unity”, or “to come together”.
The band’s album, scheduled for release at the end of October, will be the first “Fuel Album” in history. This album includes Electro-Trash tracks, Pop tunes with Blues guitars, Rock classics with Jazz drum sets, and low-volume Stoner Rock songs. Many different new instruments and sounds are being used, above all: the distorted guitar.
What counts most for SAMAVAYO more than ever are live shows! Rock’n’Roll means preparing to be on the road to reach the audience – anywhere, anytime. So look out for SAMAVAYO, on tour all through 2009!
danke für die anfrage! ich kenn euch bzw eure musik schon ein weilchen und war daher schwer enttäuscht, dass ich euch beim diesjährigen hurricane-festival verpasst habe, ...denn leider war vorher nicht bekannt, wer alles im cocacola-zelt spielt.
ich hoffe ihr hattet einen tollen festival-sommer und versorgt die nation auch weiterhin mit guter musik ;)
