InfluencesMainly.... traditional brazilian samba. But we also take influences from the traditional music of Africa, India, Cuba and Jamaica. Plus more modern influences of Drum and Bass, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Breaks, Techno, and the London Grime Scene.

Samba from York! Born out of a fusion of Mendigo Surdo (a samba band from the University of York) and students from York St. John University and York College.

We play a mixture of traditional Brazilian Carnival music and Reggaeton, plus music of African, Cuban, and Indian origins, and also influences hip hop and drum and bass. We like to get face painted up for gigs and we love to raise money for charity! If you want us to play anything just send us a message and we will sort something out. Just to say a massive thanks for playing at Tom's charity gig last month. We raised £300 for Tsolo special school in South Africa where the proceeds will buy instruments for the children :) Tom and I and so many other people had a wicked time too! Jenny x
