About me:
My name is Sam Bennetts, philosopher-warrior-prophet. I seek to live forever in the perfect waking moment, prolonging eternally the moments of hyper-kinetic superaware consciousness that come so briefly in life.
I run the Chestnut Tree Cafe with my complicatee Thais Lenkiewicz on the Barbican in Plymouth, it is the haunt of artists, poets, musicians, anarchists and bohemian refugees from the age of big brother.
The picture below is called the Flammarion Woodcut, its one of my favourite works of art though the creator and origin are unknown. The caption weeds "A missionary of the Middle Ages tells that he had found the point where the sky and the Earth touched..."
My interests are art, fashion, music, politics,
philosophy and literature. I spent most of my time socialising with my friends. I'm quite alternative and bohemian in my lifestyle but I ain't one of these pretensious types who believes its possible to be truly 'unique' in any meaningful way or refuses to listen to musicians that are popular.
I chain smoke filterless rollies and drink gallons of coffee. Coffee of every description. I love drinking and socialising in my home town and my
favourite bars in Plymouth are the Minerva, the Nowhere Inn, Voodoo Lounge and The Union Rooms Beer Garden.
I intermittently do political volunteer work and sometimes work behind a bar. I
love working behind a bar and mixing drinks. I write graphic novels which I publish on the blog at the top of this page and my own seperate blog. I go out clubbing in Plymouth far too much, normally to Ride, Jelly Jazz, Quay Club Thursdays or C103. If I'm in London I try and hit Kashpoint, Slimelight, ZooBar or Electric Ballroom.
I own far too many crazy clothes and costumes and
often have a random chaotic outfit on. I love military jackets and can often be
seen in red scots guard jacket with gold buttons or a customized old east german commandant
dress uniform.
My favourite philosophers are
Nietzche, Bakunin, Marx, Russell, Rand, Satre and Camus.
A penguin. Named after Oswald Mosley. Bit of a penguin in my opinion.
