Born N Raised in tha 979 (Bryan, Texas), Lil Sambo aka “Mr. Everythang” always had a dream to be shinin’ in the spotlight with fans screamin’ his name. He and his cousin started out freestylin’ over other rappers beats back in middle school (about 5 years ago)… then they finally realized that people around them were actually feelin’ their style and lyrics.
They wanted to take it one step further and decided to drop a demo for the local streets to see what kind of response we would get from their peers. Immediately, everyone loved it and it motivated the two, too actually get serious with their talent. Sambo was looking around for other local and talented rappers that he felt were serious about their hustle and were as hungry as he was. That’s when he came across a group of 3 rappers... Blockbusta, Bullet Head and Locsta also from his hometown who were young and comin’ up. Sambo did a couple of tracks with them for their mixtape that they were working on and once it dropped they signed Sambo to the label… Wreckin Most Wanted Ent. (WMW ent.)
As far as the music industry goes, Sambo visions W.M.W livin’ their dream once their music gets into the right hands. “We aren’t in any hurry tho… this independent money is great” says Sambo.
“I wanna be on top of the world with my family and friends right there with me,” says Sambo when asked about his goal and mission in the music industry. “Once I get my family out the hood and living in a mansion somewhere in a fancy subdivision, I’ll know that I have finally reached my goal. I wont stop until then, no matter wut!”
WMW is about to drop a long awaited and anticipated mixtape. It’s titled “A New Beginning.” Sambo says the reason for the long delay is due to the group “getting their business right”. They told everyone last year that it was gonna drop but the group felt like it was too soon and decided to push it back… A New Beginning is officially droppin in April of ’08. Sambo and Blockbusta are currently working on a mixtape… so be looking out for that!
“I think im a versatile writer, I mean; I can write raps about money cars and the lavish lifestyle and about life in the hood and the struggle. But then again, I can be a ladies man and do songs to express how I feel for that special someone. Just depends on wut kinda mood im in or how im feeling at the time” says Sambo when asked to describe his style as far as rapping & writing goes. “I’m unique! Lol nah, id say a dirty south style being from Texas and all”!
The main rappers that influence Sambo are Z-Ro and Trae, “They’re on another level and in my opinion ain’t nobody fuckin’ wit dem… they can’t spit like them and keep it real at the same time” “Also, I’m a big fan of all the S.U.C. affiliates. Lil Wayne and Jeezy also pretty hot rite now”. Z-ro and Lil Weezy are the rappers Sambo would like to have a chance to work with in the future.
“Theres a lotta talent down here but it’s a lil harder for us to get recognition so we gotta work twice as hard as rappers in the big cities”
When asked about the Music Scene in Texas, Sambos response was… “Man Texas is off the hook. The whole dirty south got the game on lock rite now! Much love to the East and West Coast, but the dirty south is grindin’ baby and we stickin’ together”.
