My weekend was good, spent yesterday working/with my old man as well as writing more songs ready for studio time. At the moment debating whether to use my glasto ticket or not its such a crime but ah well! Much planned for this week? x
I'm taking my little nepthew Brodie to the local zoo with a few of my friends and then this evening I am playing a small acoustic set which should be good although I am singing two cover versions but the rest is original so it should go down well. Don't talk about the strikes in London! I'm meant to be up there next weekend and if it's not sorted it will be the most epic trip of my life time. Although congratulations for the gig! Sounds mysteriously cool so hope that one kicks ass for you :) xx
It's more of a case that I know I wouldnt want to actually be signed, I play music to get my points across not to earn lots of money because at the end of the day money is bullshit, what is important is music that helps people or inspires people. I just dont know most record companies are all fat men in suits just wanting the next numberone when it doesnt take much to achieve number one anymore. I think thats where the value for signed artists has gone down the pan. Ah well :) upto much today?
Whenever I bother to make a music myspace again or something, I don't actually know anymore. It's not amazing music but hey it means I can harass the streets of cities and towns via busking because I figured out fuck it, If james morrison who has no talent can get a record deal that way, maybe some deaf and blind record manager will come across me and sign me to a more expensive deal with winehouse. Im no good at art really, just fills the time up nicely haha x
Just a small venue near my home town, yeah I gig alot at the moment im doing it to get feedback so i know what to record for my acoustic ep that im working on at the moment, live music is just the best thing since cheese.
Hey Sam! No worries. I know exactly what you mean... I'm currently on a plane coming home from L.A. I was here for the past week, with back to back to back to back meetings every day. I barely had a single moment to breathe, I was so busy. It must be the same with you, so I sympathize :) Almost back in my NYC routine, and I can't wait. How's everything for you, besides busy?
