Sam Brown's career began the moment he came out of his mother's womb and was ignored by his entire family. Like other needy performers before him he quickly developed an arsenal of tricks to get their attention including, his mastery of sarcasm, brutal put downs and an uncanny impression of his arthritic Aunt Selma.
After twenty-five years of honing his skills as a jackass, Sam took a job as a doorman at Catch A Rising Star where he was inspired to try his hand as a “professional” comic.
He was quickly voted "The Funniest Man in New York" by The Toyota Comedy Festival. Soon thereafter Sam began headlining top comedy clubs across the country and was featured in such festivals as Montreal's Just For Laughs. In Los Angeles, Sam headlined a show for four years at Luna Park where his special brand of neurotic insanity was described by E! Entertainment as, "Sam is like watching a hurricane unleashed, bodies strewn across the comedy landscape, leaving no survivors in his path." As a comic Sam has appeared on NBC's, Stand Up Showcase with Louie Anderson, Comedy Central's, Tompkins Square Park, Stand Up, Stand Up, Comic Remix, and BET's pay per view special, Raw and Naked. In 2007 Sam released The Worst Noel, his first album, of Christmas song parodies.
Most recently Sam starred in his critically acclaimed one person show Neurotica which was directed by Jon Shear (Urbania) and had a successful run at the Hudson Guild Theatre, which was extended three times due to popular demand. Sam has made numerous appearances in both film and television. He has been featured as an actor in Inspector Gadget (with Matthew Broderick), The Curve, New York Undercover, and was a series regular on Comedy Central's Dr. Katz and Comics On Delivery, as well as UPN's, Home Movies.
Sam also wrote and starred in a short film called, Chutzpah: The Shmooale Glick Story, which was chosen as the pick of the week by The Independent Film channel and recently named one of the top five parodies in the history of the internet.
In the past few years Sam's career as a screenwriter has taken off. He and his writing partner, Jack Angelo, have films in various stages of development at Disney and Offspring Entertainment (Undateable and Fear-Phil), Universal Studios (The Last Bash), New Line (Lucky), and Intermedia (Happily Ever After). Sam continues to develop new comedy content for the stage, screen, and television.
