The Diary of Events
- June 2008, A vocalist, Sang-Pil Han’s was taken to hospital due to a traffic accident and the band all stopped to perform
- September 2008, the band started to perform again
- October 2008, the band again stopped to perform for an indefinite period because of a drummer, Shim-Hyun Yook’s ligament injury in his knee
- November 2008, The vocalist lost his foot and fell on the escalator and entered a hospital again
Guitarist, Jin-Woo Lee was wounded in his wrist and withdrawn from his company
- December 2008, Bassist Sun-Woon Kim had injuries which would take four weeks to recover completely and the case continued to a court battle
- up to date 2009, The "Band" entered the curing centre for alcoholics and was diagnosed as hypochondria. In recent, some of "them" has been on medication and counseling therapy
The unlucky band, Same Old Story
Last an year was the miserable time for the band, Same Old Story. It seemed that the band could obtain a success while selling all press of the EP for a half year, which re-issued for three times. Just after the band was born, its record breaking sales and excellent live performances were enough to attract major entertainment companies and consequently the band made a contract with Dope Entertainment. Continually, the band was proposed from not only major rock festivals but also overseas famous rock bands for the opening show, which was rare for newborn bands. Also the success of the first album gave rise to a rumor that the band was going to launch overseas. It looked that the band was going to have a brighter future.
However, unbelievable accidents have been constantly happened since 2008. Firstly, the vocalist was hospitalized for four weeks and went though rehabilitation for 5 months due to an overturned car accident on the Gyungbu Highway. The traffic accident caused 5 times of car clashes because of a tire’s short-circuit, and flames and explosion from the overturned car. After the tragedy, the band barely started to perform again on September 2008. However, the drummer got a knee injury just after two of live concerts. As a result, the band completely ceased to perform indefinitely. During this dark period, the band members became estranged and worked in their work places. Although the band had no performing or musical activities, the misfortune never stopped. The Guitarist’s wrist injury resulted unwanted retirement from the company. Upon the heels of the guitarist, the vocalist was retaken to hospital after his losing a foot and falling on the escalator. Also, the bassist was injured and treated for four months to recover when he was involved to the case of group beatings and finally went to law with suffers because of a breakdown of negotiation. Until now, the bassist has been under the medical and counseling treatment after diagnosed as melancholia, alcoholism and nervous depression.
This is the story of Same Old Story last for an year. Are there any other bands, who have met with these kinds of a series of misfortunes like this band? Definitely No. The beginning of the bend was successful enough as the band had more than 100 live performances in diverse clubs. However, the band is now going to be gone without any visible results while suffering from the miserable series of accidents and discontinuance of any kinds of performances over an year.
In Spring 2009, this extremely tragic band, Same Old Story is just about to run again.
While getting rid of all bad memorizes of the past, the band is currently recording their new album and making plans for new performing activities.
