Sam H (Sam Hagberth) was born and raised in the south of Sweden in the small village Höör. He was brought up with his twin brother Mattis and their little sister SouSou in a home surrounded by music. His father Roland "Gotte" Gottlow who started as a professional musician at the age of 14, is a multi instrumentalist and there for had many instruments laying around in the house to play with and many great musicians stopping by.

At early age Sam started to learn the piano at the local music school.
Later at the age around 13 he started to make instrumental creations using his fathers synthesizers and sequencer system.

The passion for singing came later in Sams life. He had sung in choirs and found it pleasant but nothing more. The choice Sam made after studying science in gymnasium (college) made a big difference in both his regular and musical life. At the age of 18 he decided to go to the highest part of Sweden; Kiruna in Lapland to study Space engineer at the university of Umeå.

Cause of the very long journey, he could only bring two instruments, a nylon guitar and a harmonica. During the cold dark long winters in Kiruna, he used a lot of his free time to practice music, learning guitar, harmonica and singing. It was here Sam found his passion.

He studied the great harmonica players like Sonny Boy Williamson and learned a lot from them. Sam performed as a harmonica player and blues singer many times with local and visiting musicians in Kiruna.

With his guitar he started two write songs and when he moved back to Malmö he started to record them with a porta studio and later on a home studio.

After thousands of hours of practicing the harmonica Sam now started to focus much more on his voice. He listened a lot to Bobby Womack, Otis Redding and James Brown to find the power and passion they got. He also started to use his voice more lika a powerful instrument. During this time he also started to like soul music more and more and was changing his act more from blues into a soul direction.

In 2004 Sam was very close to getting in the last 11 in the Swedish Idol. In 2007 he was more successful and came in 7th place.
He made an excellent audition with his guitar "Learning to fly" and many great performaces in the show like "Purple Rain".

In his music he tries to blend in the luggage he has and make something that is true and captivating.
