  • Bio

A punky astral explosion of meaningless free joy and spectral voodoo fun-core dance vibes that resonates its way out of the sound system like a dusk burning its way through the horizon into the nocturnal wonderland of magic. Auckland's Sam Hamilton, through an entranced mode of ecstatic noise making, summons up a sonic spirit sensorium of alchemical boogie woogie, mystic disco rituals, psychedelic soul house and fucked modern pop bound up into a hybridized tapestry of sound equally influenced from traipsing the Amazon recording animals as it is from trashy strobe lights, amplifier feedback and tear jerking Doo-wop records. It's music that sits between an exploration of the future of sound and a shameless celebration of the present, between the border of your mind and the border of the world, between knowing and not knowing, between giving a fuck about what it's all about and not giving a fuck about what it's all about. Hamilton has recently toured the US for the 2nd time as well as Australia, South America & NZ playing festivals, events, clubs, art galleries, warehouses, living rooms, alleyways, streets, out in deserts, parks, beaches and back gardens since 2003. After a dozen or so small releases and tracks on comps from DIY labels in Japan to the WIRE magazine in the UK, Hamilton has recently released his second full-length record on vinyl titled 'PALA'.
