Let’s start with the here and now. Sam Hudson has most recently teamed up with Contagious Clubwear, who’ve become hot on the hard dance event scene. Either flying solo, or with his unique partnership with the bongo playing Nick Fisher, Sam knows how to get the crowd going. His most memorable gigs to date include Global Gathering 2006 and Tasty’s 5th birthday, courtesy of newfound partnerships with both Nick Fisher and Contagious.
Sam’s choice of chunky hard house, a perfect blend of old and new material, makes his sets quite original. You’ll rarely hear Sam play the obvious ‘safe’ tracks other DJs choose. Sam wants to give clubbers the same rush he got when hearing his idol, Andy Farley, play tracks he’d not heard before and wished he had in his record bag!
Sam prides himself with his originality, and personalises his sets with his own creations. Probably best known in the music world for his productions, in both his own name and under the guise of Masmada (working with Jukesy of JP & Jukesy), Sam’s got plenty to shout about. He’s had numerous releases, collaborating with some of the top producers in hard house, including Ingo, Paul Maddox and Eufex. His tracks feature on prestigious labels Nukleuz and Vicious Circle, and CDs mixed by respected DJs Rob Tisserra, Lisa Lashes and Sam’s own inspiration, Andy Farley.
Sam’s played at many clubs across the country over the past seven years and even earned the title of one of Garlands’ Bright Young Things. It’s not just the UK Sam’s stormed, he rocked Finland on New Year’s Eve 2004!
Starting as many young lads do these days, a ‘bedroom DJ’ with a set of Sound Lab decks and an old mobile disco mixer, Sam’s hard work and dedication have helped build up his equipment and style. But it’s his undoubted talent that’s taken him places he never thought possible.
