bigsammy{gurp city/crush ent.}
Bigsammy has been in the Sacramento area hip-hop scene since 1997. A b-boy who started getting known in him home town of woodland started making his way out to Sacramento battles and eventually met up with the nor-cal Zulu nation chapter where they but him on game. From 2000 to 2006 he hosted a slew of shows which included the living legends, the hieroglyphics, prince paul, MOP, talib kweli, pharaoh monch, abstract rude, micha 9, pigeon john, eyedea and abilities, zion i and a bunch of local hip-hop acts as well. In 2006 he decided that he had studies the game long enough and picked the microphone up and get out what he had to say. With the help of local hip-hop group INE and local producer E dot C they showed me ho to write a structed song and taught me a lot about the rap game. That same year he put out his first mixtape which hit the woodland streets like a wild fire. That caught the attention of a dj named Adrian g. who later on asked him to host a local show and from that moment on he became bigsammy dj. Over the years he has put out 4 other mixtapes and a rare recorded mixtape (only 50 pressed) and has shared the stage with groups such as, Pitbull, chingo bling, murs, inspectah deck , questlove, yak ballz, planet asia, eddie k, z-man, dj quest, topr, conceit as well as a list of sac and sf area hip-hop groups. Bigsammy has placed his hands in every element of hip-hop and hopes to leave his make like tagger real soon on the scene that once loved him but now hates him. You can find him party rocking with his DJ ADRIAN G @ local bars and clubs. One last thing and Note this that without his dj he would not be here and if it wasn’t for music he would have been dead a long time ago. So I hope you enjoy the music and keep it pushing.
