  • Bio

Born in Geneva in 1984, of Moroccan and Syrian parents, Samia Tawil has been immersed in music since an early age, whether oriental, rock, or soul. Her mother being a writer of several poetical novels, Samia Tawil has discovered through that her passion for songwriting and music, along with dance that she has been involved in professionnally, including in Janet Jackson’s troupe in Vancover. She also perfected her musical knowledge with classes in singing and music theory, developing through that a repertory of compositions written in English, her father being English speaking. In 1997, she caught the eye of Grandiva Music in New York, with whom she recorded some of her songs and performed on stage, including on the French TV show “Hit Machine”, in Paris, that also hosted Björk and Sheryl Crow. Combining her experience as a dancer in several important concerts and her experience as a singer, Samia best expresses the whole spectrum of her art on stage and captivates the audience. In 2000, she formed a new band, and develops a great complicity with her guitarist and drummer, with whom her music takes on new force, performing at numerous concerts between 2001 and 2005 all around Europe. In August 2003, in parallel to her philosophy studies, they recorded a 4 track demo which reflects all the power and duality of Samia Tawil’s sound: the pulse and strength of rock music blended with the mystery and emotion of Oriental music. This musical mix, enriched with her controversial lyrics and her hypnotic stage performance, makes Samia Tawil a unique artist. ..........Layout Created @ FreeCodeSource.com .. ....Myspace Layouts.... .. ....Myspace Codes.... .. ....Myspace Generators......
