I I always knew I would become a fashion designer. My mother and grandmother both designed and sewed their own fashionable garments, and passed on technical skills to me from a young age (I miss you, Bibi!). At the age of six, I began hand sewing and illustrating designs, and was voted “Best Dressed” at school several times. I was a little businesswoman from a young age, and started a babysitting venture at the age of 10. You could say that I was the “teacher’s pet” those days! Through the awkward teen years, I honed my design skills at home, and spent many days sketching and dreaming of becoming a fashion designer. I even remember a classmate telling me, "One day, we will probably see your name on a fashion label."
At 17, I wanted to go to NYC to pursue a fashion degree, but my parents didn’t like the idea of their young girl alone in a big city, and thought I should get a “real degree”. So I did, and always tried to incorporate art and fashion in my studies. I then worked in the corporate world for a while before realizing that I was meant to be a fashion designer, and I wasn’t going to let anything stop me. I faced many personal obstacles, and despite being told that I wouldn’t last in the cut-throat fashion industry, I made the move to New York City to make my dream a reality....and the rest is history!
Today, I have created two, I’m happy to say, popular labels. The SAMIRA ATASH label unites East and West through ethically made designs inspired by the Silk Road. It’s A Miracle offers contemporary maternity clothing for women who don’t want to show too much skin.
Thank you to all my clients, customers, friends, family, and fans who have given me so much strength and support over the years to continue creating!

The holy month of Ramadan
For all Muslims has begun.
Praising Allah through the day,
From dawn to dusk we fast and pray.
We pay zakah (charity) for those in need,
Trying hard to do good deeds.
When the sun has set, and day is done-
I'll break this chain, but only one.
By the end of Ramadan, this whole chain will be all gone!
It's time for Eid and lots of fun!!!
I wanted to thank you for your support and let you know that my new album "Seven" is available for pre-order at http://www.siavashseven.com. I also have new song samples up on my myspace page.
Hi Samira, how are you? How are your parents doing? I hope you are all doing great. It was great to see you in the summer and meet khala Gol-ghutai and Dr. Atash. God bless them.
Hey I see you are an Obama fan. Hey last week he made his first forgein trip and came to Canada. We gave him a "warm" welcome lol. Canada really likes Obama and I personally am a fan of his. I particularly like his positions on science, renewable energy, and of coarse our homeland Afghanistan.
Hey if you missed his State of the Union address last week, check out this video, it's a hip-hop version of it lol
