Sam Joole
Australian performer Sam Joole recently recorded in the USA and has just finished an album in the UK. Featuring on the album are his northern hemisphere Aliens Ralph Simmons on Drums (Robbie Williams) and Thor House on Bass, Son of legendary prog rock band Hawkwind's Simon House.
Whilst touring USA in 2007 with his other outfit The Heart Attack, Sam Joole was commercially commissioned too co write and record 3 tracks with Bob Birch - Bass (Elton John), Paul Warren - Guitar (Rod Stewart), Jimmy Hunter -Drums (The Doors, Cher). Two tracks were released on commercial radio under the banner 'Suggestive Amnesia' and one of the tracks debut at 91 on the national commercial charts in the USA and moved to 23.
This all from a guy who in 2004 borrowed a warehouse doomed for demolition in Sydney and recorded the first Alien Zoo album 'Zephanom'. Unreleased in Australia and with it's mix of spaced out rock'n'roll, slap in the face lyrics and with the help of London based animators, 'Zephanom' became an instant phenomenon. The videos for 'New York Girl in Baghdad' and 'Robot World' harvested over 100'000 views in their first two weeks on the Alien Zoo website and Zephanom went on to receive generous airplay on college stations across the U.S. See the anims linked here..www.alienzoo.tv
