Hardly new at this, Sam McRae is the man to keep your eyes on when it comes to ski photography and landscape photography. Hailing from Ottawa and now living in Whistler, British Columbia, Sam has been shooting photos for over 12 years. A few years after picking up his first camera, Sam started djing underground hiphop and quickly took over the airwaves with three radio shows including "The Breakdown" on CHUO 89.1fm as DJ Skrambo. Sam quickly recruited the soon to be superstar, Quddus(MTV fame) to assist on the mic and then on the 1's & 2's. After Quddus left for national and then international fame, Sam put "The Breakdown" on hold to travel, shoot photos, and dj. His biggest DJ show was playing for 10000 Skateboard fans at the PNE collosium in Vancouver for the year 2000's "Slam City Jam: World Cup of Skateboarding."
Sam McRae needed a change, so he left the radio shows and his "Dean's List of Honour" status at Carleton University behind for better things. The next step: T-dot(Toronto) where Sam would break into the television production business. Sam was hired at a successful television production company where he was producing, shooting, and editing for shows such as "Pontiac World of Skiing." The programs appeared on Sportsnet and the Outdoor Life Network, among others.
After two years of television work, Sam decided to go full circle and jump back into his first love, Photography. Moving to Whistler was the first step.
Sam McRae is also a writer and has had material published in a variety of magazines, most notably, Larry Flint's "Big Brother Skateboard Magazine"(R.I.P.). For those that don't know, Big Brother was the original birthplace of Jackass. Fellow contributors have included Johnny Knoxville, Steve-o, and Chris Pontius.

I finally finished working in the city, so I am up here full time..yaaay..I am not going to lie a little weird.. I am going thru all the red tape, paperwork, not fun stuff now. I am hoping to be up and running in Jan:)
How is my favorite ski photographer??? Its cold here but we do not have much in the way of snow..booo I hope France is treating you well. I can't wait to see the pictures!
Hey! Alaska has been nothing but amazing! I'm actually working as a guide in a ski town called Girdwood where Alyeska resort is! Pretty rad riding! France sounds amazing.. good luck!
