I think these songs are more shaped by my personal influences than by the bands I've listened to, but I can definately say I was musically influenced by the alt.rock bands of the 90s like Counting Crows, Matchbox20, Third Eye Blind, Better Than Ezra, Goo Goo Dolls, Offspring, Green Day, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, U2, Sublime, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Bush, Gin Blossoms, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Cracker, Eve 6 as well Bob Dylan and The Beatles a lot of the 70s singer-songwriter scene. I guess there's also some influence by like the eighties New Wave Bands like R.E.M., Depeche Mode and The Smiths. I don't know really, I've listened to a lot of different kinds of music (especially lately) and I can't really say which styles come out in my sound.
I started writing lyrics in middle school, then I learned keyboard and then guitar and starting writing actual songs. I've played most in front of people at parties and that kind of thing, but I've played bigger gatherings too. In May 2004, I recorded my lo-fi debut album, "Lessons From A Small Town". I've currently got new material in the works and am planning on doing some shows soon.
Metal Band, Man U Do it all! I think all i would need is a band and i could do pretty good on a few rock songs. If there were a way you could make a song like rock I'd like to see if i could put words to it. But man keep it up on your school and music i think you got a serious gift for it.
