In November 2008,Sammy won the award for "Best Male Blues Vocalist" from the Inland Empire Blues Society. www.ieblues.org This was Sammy's 3rd consecutive win,putting him in the IEBS Hall of Fame!!!It also means that of the 14 awards for "Best Male Blues Vocalist" of the year given out by the IEBS, Sammy has won 6 of them.

I am throwin a huge party at the swamp to raise money for a great benefit! To help Robert Yamada walk again! He had a diving accident a few weeks ago, and is now a quadriplegic. His medical care is expected to be for a lifetime and will cost millions to reconstruct their house, and pay for his continuous care.
