Bio
Growing up in his family's recording studio and video/film production company, it was nearly a family requirement that Sammy Holbrook be involved in Music, somehow.
The signs of his interest in music started at age 2 and grew from there. At age six he began singing and acting in local and regional Radio and TV commercials. At age ten, Sammy began teaching himself how to play Piano while waiting for the school bus. He went on to learn guitar and drums as well. Using all of these talents throughout high-school in School plays and musical performances, proved to be a fun, growing experience.
During his high school years, after hours, Sammy, his brother Bobby and friend Marc Broussard, would spend endless hours in the family's recording studio, writing and recording anything that came to mind. It was there that Sammy learned to be a proficient recording studio engineer and discovered his voice.
Sammy has engineering and vocal credits on “Sailing” the Randy Newman tribute CD, both serving as engineer and back ground vocalist for the song “Leave Your Hat On”. In addition Sammy has worked with Grammy winner Keb Mo, The Sub Dudes and several other recording artists.
Today, Sammy performs locally and works as a recording studio Pro-Tools engineer and top Jingle singer.
The release of his first solo CD is scheduled for mid 2009. He hopes to go where the music takes him.
Sammy's influences range from George Straight, to James Brown, The Tower of Power, George Winston and friend Marc Broussard.
