I was born August 23, 1983 in Kalamazoo, Mi. My first hip hop experiences started when i was 7. I got LL Cool J "Bad" while i was at a garage sale with my mom. My garage sale cassette collection grew through the age of nine, starting to include Michael Jackson, Sir Mix-a-lot, Beastie Boys "License to Ill", Nirvana "Nevermind", Kriss Kross, Wreckz-n-Effectz, and Naughty By Nature, among many others. By ten i was borrowing my mom's friends c.d.'s., listening to anything i could get my hands on. Motown's Greatest Hits all the way to Guns and Roses "Appetite for Destruction". And then came gangsta rap. As much as i do not convey nor agree with gangsta rap as true hip hop, i was mesmerized when i was ten. Snoop and Dre had the hooks and the videos to match. Then one day an older friend of mine ( my neighbor, he was fifteen when i was ten) let me listen to Eazy E. I had never heard someone swear so much on a track or say certain things. Shit i was ten. My neighbor was a metal head at heart so he agreed to swap "Appetite for Destruction" for his Eazy E. I lost the tape a few years ago but its those memories that always stick. Its stuff like that that has made me love hip hop down to the bone. In any case its been a fun ride. I have shaped my idea of hip hop as a whole many different ways over the years. I try to paint that evolution for y'all with my music, and show you who i am a bit. midwest word up. -SP

Trust me, a lawsuit was my first action of recourse, but then I realized that shingles are brought about by the dormant chickenpox virus. I don't know if even I am creative enough to pin that on the Village Quarter, though needless to say I am still trying.
I was going to stop by this weekend but wasn't sure if you, Erin, or Pete have had the pox (someone with shingles can give chickenpox to people that have not yet had them). Perhaps next weekend.
