December 1999, a few days before the turn of the millennium....

....in a dark rehearsal room in southern Germany a band named SAMORRA is born. It’s cold, plaster is crumbling off the walls and it reeks of mold. No particularly good starting conditions but in the faces of the musicians something special becomes apparent: Determination, passion, stamina. They quit their jobs and break up the normal life to focus only on their music. Make-or-break. All for the music.

Ladies & Gentlemen, these guys are in point of fact adamantine. Or do you know someone who would jeopardize a civic livelihood for a dream? Exactly! The passion started back in the nineties when they developed their vision of hard rock music in several bands. In their record shelves: Danzig, Metallica, Megadeth, Godsmack, Slayer and Disturbed. In their hearts: Fire!
Already in 2000 SAMORRA make the first demo and have about 20 gigs. In 2001 they record the debut – EP which is produced by Dieter Roth (Haggard, Schweisser) and mixed by Peter Seifert (Reamon, HIM…) and Anyway Wölfle (Rolling Stones, Paradise Lost…). It goes Demo of the month in the METAL HAMMER and wins the ‘Democheck’ in the Gitarre & Bass – mag. 2002 they have a deal with Netmusiczone Records and a publishing deal with Devman/BMG.

Several gigs with Waltari, Emil Bulls and the Blood Brothers follow, even for Jägermeister SAMORRA supports the Hurricane-Club-Show tour through Germany and leave a trace of rock from stage to stage. In 2003 it is time for a own recording studio the ‘Mountain-Sight-Plaza’ next to Oberstdorf. The mountain view is so stunning that Axel, Nic and Armin decide to move in with bag and baggage. They produce the debut album ‘Audioleech’ in 2004 which is way more metal than the EP and passes its crucial test on gigs with Ektomorf, Tankard and 4LYN.
In 2005 our heroes go on tour with Stygma IV where they make friends with Alex Hilzensauer, the bassist from Salzburg who joins the band after Stygma IV breaks up. Now eventually SAMORRA is complete! After 170 Gigs their greatest show was to come up: The second album ‘Religion Of The Unbroken’, Metal of course. Melodic, rough and intoxicating.

To make a long story short: All the sleepless nights in the rehearsal room were worth the trouble. Seven years of effort, seven years of unbreakable belief. Crazy? Yes, crazy. Crazy about good music. Crazy about ‘Religion Of The Unbroken’. Make-or-break. SAMORRA.

2007 SAMORRA sign a record deal with Metaltrait-ASR/Soulfood. They release ‘Religion Of The Unbroken’ in October 2007 and have incredible press reviews. ‘Can’t Wake it up’ is released on the Metal-Hammer-CD and played in almost all Metal Clubs in Germany. Therefore SAMORRA make it in the HELLFEST-CHARTS and for the maximum period of 10 weeks in the MRC-30-Charts. They have interviews with the big Metal mags and the elaborate Video of ‘Can’t Wake it up’ is well seen on the internet and TV-Stations.
Due to a bad disease of their booking agent, SAMORRA cancel the intended European tour and go directly back to the Studio to produce the follower of ‘Religion of the Unbroken’… … to be continued
