Almost everything. In fact, it'd be easier to say what I'm not interested in: sports on tv, crap reality shows - in fact, tv in general. I've been without it for 8 years. I'm also not interested in people who repeat the same bad mistakes over and over, people who don't care about anything, or people who think it's ok to be mean.
Music
All of it. Even the genres that don't thrill me to bits - celtic, folk, modern r&b and modern country - contain some tunes and bands and albums that I love. My favorites are music with good crooners, true heart and soul, creative (even if, or maybe ESPECIALLY if veryvery simple) structure, and badass bass players. I also have a desperate heart-on for chinese classical music.
Movies
Same as with music. Am a bit of a sicko movie buff, with a collection that stuns some. My singular, perhaps strangest passion is period chinese action (set pre-1920) - ala Once Upon A Time in China, etc... I like "hero" movies in general, but I also love good special effects (natural and digital), beautiful, creative cinematography, well-written stories, comedy, excellent animation (of both general genres), documentaries, and schlock. Life is short - try everything!
Television
When I watched tv, I liked X-Files, TV Nation, the Discovery Channel, comedy central, any good sci-fi, fantasy, or mini-series... but it just got so ugly. I have watched some series via my library, and I love Sopranos, Dead Like Me, Monk, Firefly, Carnivale, etc. It's SO nice to be able to watch that good stuff with no chemicals or additives. Commercials are pretty bad, but the "news" REALLY sucks.
Books
Oh god. These questions are SO hard! Can't anyone come up with something new? MORE revealing, MORE specific? *sigh*. I'm a librarian and have been reading novels since I was 7. I read constantly, so I'll just list the ones I read at least once a year, every year, and hope that satisfies the curious.
'Gormenghast' by Mervyn Peake (the first 2. I only read the 3rd ever 10 years), 'Maia' by Richard Adams, all of Terry Pratchett's, 'The Hitchiker's Guide', and all my comics - Sandman, Shade the Changing Man, AE, etc... but I read almost everything except the whole johngrishamdeankoontzmaryhigginsclarkpatriciamacdonaldsandrabrown:
cranked out cookie cutter best seller junk.
Heroes
My brother Joe, my godfather, Robert Rodriguez, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Tori A., Freddy Mercury, Mrs. Daugherty, my cousin Charlyn, Jet Li, Vin D., Bruce Lee, the Dalai Lama - and all the geeks who are brave enough to be themselves with fun and flair - OUT THERE! and me. ottis says so. i'd like to add another hero: hannah bright who said, in her own hero's column: Heroes: You.
