not only sweetening our breakfeast on sundaymornings with buttery, fluffy croisants, but also our saturdaynights with sexy dance music. bpitch control affiliates another french artist besides feadz, so that the berlin crowd doesn..t only get ecstasized at the la fayette bread shop. his name is samson.
his first 12“ „getto blast control“ on bpc seems like a ride through all of the deep-space classics .
you feel as if hovering in an agravic star trek cabin with cussioned walls. rjd2 pops in jabbering, followed by barbarella, whos sexy voice interfuses the permanent rattling and chattering emerging from the machines and robots.
the track evolves into a wild partyscene with girls in kinky socks, obscure robots making all sorts of noises and cranking up all modulators to peak, some guys in spacetraveler-outfits and wavy hair-does spinning flowerpower girls around in circles.
to those who know the development of samson as an artist, this dancefloor-orgy is not very surprising.
his mother, a dancer herself, introduced him to dancing and he started taking lessons in ballett at the tender age of six. quite late he made his way to producing music himself, as a 16 year-old-boy he started playing the drums then he switched to playing guitar. at the same time his interest for electronic music started to sprout along with the idea to combine electronic and instrumental music.
samson developed an interesting style of performing: a mixture between a regular dj set combinig his own stuff into a fourious mix, inspired by artists like squarepusher and jeff mills who showed that an electronic music act can be just as entertaining as a „real“ live performance. standing behind the decks spinnin.. like a villain, simultaneously twisting all the knobs to the max and letting the dogs out is his favorite game to play. he enjoys to watch the crowd moving, getting higher and higher through his fine blend of beats, bass and melody.
he was a dancer, is a dancer and will always be a dancer, no matter if on his own feet, as a composer for modern-dance-performances or as a medium for clubheads.
he is a real crowdpleaser.

ach, die franzosen! nicht nur versüßen sie uns die sonntagvormittage mit buttrig luftigen croissants, sondern zudem die samstagnächte mit sexy dance music. damit berlin nicht nur am la fayette-backstand in frankophiles verzücken fällt, nimmt bpitchcontrol jetzt neben feedz einen weiteren französischen künstler in die labelfamilie auf - samson.
getto blast control ist wie ein ritt durch sämtliche „unendliche weiten ...“-filme, die je kultstatus erreicht haben. man fühlt sich wie in einer star trek-kabine mit gepolsterten wänden, in denen man schwerelos herumschwebt. plappernd kommt r2d2 herein, gefolgt von barbarella, die mit ihrer sexy stimme das durchlaufende geratter und gepiepse der maschinen durchdringt. dabei ist es keineswegs ein kalter technoider sound, der so entsteht. es ist eine wilde party mit mädchen in ringelsocken, jungs in spaceoutfits und popperfrisuren, die flower-power-girls herumwirbeln, und kleinen fiependen robotern, die die regler immer höher ziehen.
verwunderlich ist diese dancefloororgie nicht, weiß man um den künstlerischen werdegang samsons. durch seine mutter, eine tänzerin, wurde er schon als kind mit tanz in berührung gebracht und begann im alter von sechs jahren mit ballett-unterricht. zur musik fand er erst relativ spät. als 16-jähriger begann er mit schlag-zeugunterricht und wechselte dann später zur gitarre. gleichzeitig begann sein inte-resse an elektronischer musik zu wachsen sowie der wunsch, elektronische mit in-strumentaler musik zu verbinden. durch leute wie squarepusher und jeff mills da-von überzeugt worden, dass auch elektronikmusik absoluten unterhaltungscharakter haben kann, ist samsons größter kick heute, live sowohl seine eigenen sachen zu spielen als auch gleichzeitig andere musik mit hinein zu mixen. hinter plattentellern zu stehen, gleichzeitig wie ein maniac an den knöpfen seines mixers rumzudrehen und eigenes aus seinem rechner hochzuladen und zu sehen, wie die masse sich in seine beats hineinschlängelt und in ekstase tanzt, ist für samson das größte. er ist und bleibt ein tänzer, egal ob auf eigenen füßen, als komponist für moderne ballettaufführungen oder als glücksbringer hinter elektronikequipment.
also berlin und alle anderen – lasst euch von diesem billy elliot der elektronikmusik berauschen und schwingt das tanzbein!
