From there it will tour to each city culminating in a final exhibition in Freetown, Sierra Leone in 2010.

The Wilberforce Women book of images and messages of Pride, Freedom, Belief and Change by the women of Hull and Freetown, Sierra Leone was launched to coincide with the month-long exhibition at Hull's Ferens Art Gallery last year which ran from Saturday 6th to 28th October.
The book is a strong and moving souvenir of Wilberforce 2007 and the bicentenary year of the Abolition of the British Slave Trade. The book is still on sale from the Ferens bookshop and the Hull Daily Mail reception on Beverley Road. Eleven and a half tonnes of sand on a partially sprung dance floor...
In November 2007 I ran the twoweekends dance festival in Hull and managed an ambitious commission for a new dance piece called 'Make and Break and make again' organised and choreographed by Y Dance, Far Flung Dance Company and Sand in Your Eye. You can see two videos of the results of this commission which involved putting eleven and a half tonnes of sand onto the dance floor on youtube at:

From May - November 2008 I have been co-ordinating a large programme of music opportunities for young people aged 14-19 from Hull. The Youth Music Mentors project is run by Music4U - the Humber Region Youth Music Action Zone in partnership with Hull Youth Development Service. During Autumn 2008 I co-ordinated a large programme of World Music workshops and performances in the Humber region for Music4U - the Humber Region Youth Music Action Zone. The project has been part of their BBC Blast work and tied in with the world music festival Musicport in Bridlington (17th-19th Oct) and with National Youth Music Week (25th Oct-1st Nov). In Summer 2008 I co-ordinated a programme of Rock Music workshops and performances for young people aged 13-19 in the Humber region for Music4U - the Humber Region Youth Music Action Zone. A return visit for Dale (who played a great set supporting Colleen earlier in the series), this time with cellist, Ute – they will create a new, unique set using small instruments & objects. Helena is one of the UK’s most promising electronic sound artists & her laptop based pieces have an organic fizz about them. If all that wasn’t enough we also have special permission from Ikue Mori, one of the worlds leading experimental musicians & visual artists, to screen a section of her new video piece which transforms ancient temple paintings….please come along to support seeds & bridges events….
