twoweekends 2007

Download the PDF of Hull's annual twoweekends dance festival 2007 which took place on 9-11 & 16-18 November in various venues across Hull & Just Dance Autumn 2007 programme - both were organised by me!

Books Wilberforce Women 2007

The Wilberforce Women book of images and messages of Pride, Freedom, Belief and Change by the women of Hull and Freetown, Sierra Leone was launched to coincide with the month-long exhibition at Hull's Ferens Art Gallery last year which ran from Saturday 6th to 28th October.

The book is a strong and moving souvenir of Wilberforce 2007 and the bicentenary year of the Abolition of the British Slave Trade. The book is still on sale from the Ferens bookshop and the Hull Daily Mail reception on Beverley Road. Price £5 (£2 goes directly towards the Wilberforce Women 2008 projects - more details on request). Contact: wilberforcewomen@wtf.karoo.co.uk

Heroes Eleven and a half tonnes of sand on a partially sprung dance floor...

In November 2007 I ran the twoweekends dance festival in Hull and managed an ambitious commission for a new dance piece called 'Make and Break and make again' organised and choreographed by Y Dance, Far Flung Dance Company and Sand in Your Eye. You can see two videos of the results of this commission which involved putting eleven and a half tonnes of sand onto the dance floor on youtube at:

performance: youtube: make and break...

timelapses: youtube: make and break...timelapses

If you look carefully on the timelapses you can even spot me sweeping up!

Hi Sam, great news about the E-Bulletin, and thanks for the plug. The link seems to be broken though (too many www's in the URL I think) for Humber Mouth's Myspace!
