    Samuel Davidson (b. 1983) is a contemporary clarinetist based out of Vancouver BC. He holds a bachelors degree in music performance from the University of British Columbia. At UBC he studied with Wes Foster and Cris Inguanti. He was a featured soloist at Clarinetfest 2007 and is a frequent artist-in-residence at the Banff Centre. In the contemporary classical genre he has performed under the direction of John Tilbury, Louis Andriessen and most recently Joel Sachs, driector of new music at the Julliard School. He also notes performances with Giorgio Magnanensi, Marina Rosenfeld, Chris Chafe, Mark Dresser and Sarah Weaver. In November 2009 he shared the international stage in a telematic peace concert webcast simultaneously in San Diego, Banff, Belfast, Soeul, and the UN headquarters in New York. He is a co-founder of SPACEMELT, an interdisciplinary performance ensemble featruing Amsterdam based recorderist Terri Hron and Vancouver based visual artist Michael Markowsky. An adept improviser Samuel freelances regulary in Vancouver and is a member of the Cat Toren Quartet, Malcolm Aiken Band, Arbos, Skypager as well as his own varied ensembles. Sam also specializes in the EWI4000s, a wind synthesizer. He can be seen using this instrument with experimental pop band Brasstronaut.
