Samuel’s is a quaint coffeehouse nestled in quiet Alplaus, NY. Our commitment to caring and providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere is guaranteed to make Samuel’s one of your new favorite places.

Samuel’s might be best known locally for featuring live music every Friday and Saturday night, in almost any style you can think of, from artists that hail all over the world. The entertainment is almost always free (bands occasionally request payment for traveling expenses), and you will always find someone you know there catching a performance.

On the last Saturday of every month, Rich Sarnacki hosts Open Mic. Anyone is welcome to come and play or watch. We can accommodate just about any kind of act or group, but we don’t allow full drum sets during open mic. We offer free WI-FI for those who like to take their work along with them, and we have our own computer available for those who might be struggling with various social network site addictions.

Local Artists and Photographers: Samuel’s features a local gallery wall where we display artwork and photography from artists in the area who are looking to gain some exposure, and we allow viewers to buy pieces off the wall. Contact Samuel’s to submit your art for display and sale on our gallery wall.


Samuel’s serves only fair-trade, organic coffee in their traditional brews and specialty drinks. An in-house bakery provides everything from iced cookies to whole pies and their made to order (MTO) sandwiches and soups will quell any appetite. This is by no means, however, everything Samuel’s has to offer. We invite you to come in some time and explore the entire menu for yourself!



What sets Samuel’s apart from most other establishments of its kind is that Samuel’s is run on a volunteer basis. This means that the majority of our staff are people giving their time and service to keep Samuel’s running the way it does. If you’d like to be a volunteer at Samuel’s, come in or call us at the number above. Your service can count towards requirements for honor societies, scholarships, or volunteer service programs. At the same time, you’ll be helping Samuel’s be able to continue operating the way it does, and we couldn’t thank you enough for that!
