Samuel Valme

About me:

Samuel was raised, in Brooklyn New York and attended elementary and Junior High Schools in Brooklyn, New York and High School in Manhattan. The son of a minister, he spent his formative years developing his now strong faith and convictions. After graduating from High School, Samuel was compelled by his sense of duty and patriotism to enlist in the Army and volunteer for the Airborne Infantry, where he served as an Airborne-Ranger with the 3rd Ranger Battalion at Fort Benning GA and is listed in the “Ranger Walk” on the Ranger Memorial at Fort Benning, GA. Samuel’s 23 year career in the Army afforded him the opportunity to serve the Army at various levels of commands from company to his last assignment with the United States Army Reserve Command, as the Manager for the operations in strategic planning initiatives for the Army Reserve at Fort McPherson GA. He is widely recognized as an expert on military matters and revised, staffed and published the Army Reserve Regulation for Retention and Transition Programs in March 2006. Samuel’s military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Advance Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, and the Sergeants Major Academy. He received numerous awards and accolades to include the Legion of Merit. Samuel received his BS degree with honors in Business Administration from Liberty University. He received his MBA degree with honors in Conflict and Negotiations and Management from Touro University. Samuel is currently employed as an Army Alumni Career Counselor at Fort McPherson, GA where he provides vocational counseling to transitioning military personnel, Army civilians, and their family members. This includes facilitating Resume, Interviewing and Federal Job Application seminars. Assist with resume writing and job hunting, briefings on benefits, employment assistance, financial management assistance, health and life insurance, and reserve affiliation; as well as training on interview techniques, and using the federal job application system. Samuel’s reasons for entering into politics are to improve the communities in Henry County and reflect the values and advance the interests of Georgia and our Nation. Samuel serves as a District Post Seat Holder for the Henry County Democratic Party and the Selection Chair for the New Leaders Council, Atlanta Chapter where he has an engaging role in the selection and mentorship of young progressive future leaders in Georgia. He previously served as the Vice President of the Manderley Estate Homes Owners’ Association and Mediator for the Metro South Association of REALTORS®. He is married to the former Jacqueline March and has two sons and resides in Stockbridge GA.
