Matt Golightly realized his passion for stand-up comedy shortly after graduating from University of Texas in San Antonio in 2002, and hasn’t stopped working since. His quick wit, relatable material, and very likeable stage presence has garnered him many fans in the comedy world, along with broad appeal among a wide demographic. He is continually amazed at the range of people- from all walks of life- who have stopped to tell him how much they enjoyed his show.
After working in every type of room- comedy clubs, colleges, one-nighters, country clubs, and corporate gigs- Matt developed an ability to read audiences, ensuring that they always have a good time during his show. His views on dating, the club scene, politics, and popular culture come across as goodhearted and fun- not angry or bitter. Due to his insatiable work ethic, and because he is a self proclaimed “square,” Matt is exceedingly reliable on a professional level. His peers know him to be an genuinely good guy who happens to be hilarious.
Matt’s hard work and talent has taken him to clubs and college campuses across the United States, as well as to Korea and Japan to entertain our troops overseas. Matt has been heard on The Bob & Tom Radio Show, and seen on Fox TV, LAT TV, and Late Shift with Kevin Ferguson. He recently participated in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He can also be heard providing color-commentary during high-school football season along the Texas Sports Radio Network and frequently writes for the NBA's San Antonio Spurs website.
