Sounds Like
Probably best described as Alternative Rock; best experienced in living colour.
Sanctas Quay (Formerly The PiECES), are based in the east of England. The four-piece band formed in the summer of 2008, and are now exclusively playing live around the UK.
Although key influences such as Queen, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and Radiohead are evident in the music; the band has it's own distinctive sound. An experience that can be truly appreciated Live, where the energy can run wild and sweep you away on a wave of heightened consciousness...
Vibrant raw power on the drums with frills and thrills aplenty... Ballsy bass riffs that hover across the floor and permeate your very fibre... Fretless fingering and eclectic inventiveness flow from the beauteous black-and-green beast- the unique guitar Velvetonic... Deep and moving vocals hang amidst all to inspire enigmatic feelings from bliss and contentment to torment and ire...
Taking influences from all across the musical spectrum, Sanctas Quay channel their creative energy to produce a veritable aural feast in their own tracks. Clever (and sometimes obscure!) lyrics of poetic inspiration and depth; combined with powerful grungey rock and soulful ballads to create the musical amalgamation that is:
"Sanctas Quay - The rocky shore of the home of the wayward mind..."
