Singer/actress Denise Black (Queer As Folk, Coronation Street) with songwriter Paul Sand tinkling the ivories are long time partners (The London Band, Denise Black and the Kray Sisters, Mad And Her Dad/Lyric Hammersmith). They spent last summer playing every Sunday upstairs at the Sanctuary Cafe in Brighton with THE SAND BAND joined by the dazzling melodic bass of Mr Hedi Pinkerfeld and an array of extraordinary guests including Patricia Calnan (violin), George Robertson (viola), Jane Tuff (clarinets and saxes), Dandy Sand (vocals) - not to mention Julie Groves, Stephen Warbeck and the incomparable Sarah Homer.
