Named after the oldest street in Newcastle, Sandhill truly have their roots firmly in the native Toon. They are: Jonny Smith - Vocals/Guitar; Davey Patten - Lead Guitar/ Vocals; Disco – Bass and Paul Slinn – Drums.
The band have been together five years, the best friends have found themselves making music which not only represents their strength and talent as a well formed group – but expresses their individual influences from over the years.
Sandhill released their debut E.P in July to a willing audience which has earned the band critical acclaim as well as establishing them as firm favourites in their hometown of Newcastle.
Having spread there wings across the country in playing venues such as The Cavern in Liverpool, Carling Academy Islington the band have also experienced the international stage with a surprise gig in Cuba in 2006.
Sandhill have incorporated their influences into a unique, flawless sound which they have collectively perfected - think The Zutons, Kings of Leon, Rolling Stones and Oasis.

Hello to all, Just thought we'd stop by and say thank you ,to all the awesome bands that have sent in their material which has been aired on the show throughout the years.
We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.
Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
Undergroundsounds Program Manager 44 Bambil St, Crestmead,Queensland. Australia.
Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience. Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from August 2009 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
