Influences
My mother, Pt. Govind Prasad Jaipurwale, Pt. Dinkar Kaikini, great Hindustani and Carnatic artistes (vocal and instrumental), the jazz greats, Flamenco, Rumi, Hazrat Inayat Khan, Nichiren Daishonin and Daisaku Ikeda, Mahatma Gandhi, Dinshah (for uncovering the musician in me), Peter (for being my everything in the second phase of my life) and of course The Beatles
Sandhya Sanjana moved to Europe from Bombay, India eight years ago and has not looked back since. Performing with many musicians, she has honed her unique eclectic singing style which blends Indian, jazz, funk, blues and spoken word into her own special magical genre.
Was recently in Bombay, it was fantastic. Can't believe how much changes there each day. The city is dirty, polluted and crowded beyond belief but the spirit of the people is so exuberant and vibrant that I am proud to have my roots there, now and forever. Namaste !

Well thankya kindly SS...Yes indeed the lyrics are hardfought and completely wonderful. How was your summer? Hit any festivals? We played Glastonbury and Lovebox but We're still crawling toward the finish line on 2, possibly 3, records. Then will be back to playing live for real. The US release is Nov 17 so I assume by then will be ready to kick out the jams. Love, Max
