The Swarm vs. The Sirens

What to expect!

SDDD’s The Swarm invaded LADD’s season in 2009 making it to the championship game undefeated. They lost the title of 2009 champions of the Doll Factory to the LADD’s Tough Cookies. In 2010 the same five teams, the Swarm, the Sirens, the Tough Cookies, the Fight Crew, and the Varsity Brawlers, will battle for the championship title. The difference is that this year the games will be played in both San Diego and LA, giving the San Diego fans a chance to get in on the action.

The last time the Swarm and the Sirens played each other was in September of 2009, where the Swarm took a solid win with a final score of 104-51, the Swarm. Come support SDDD’s the Swarm in their first game of 2010 and cheer them on to another win against the Sirens. Tickets are available for purchase here! WE WILL SELL OUT!

The Season So Far

The San Diego Derby Dolls are showing our fans that we are geared up for our most amazing season yet! We finally premiered our brand new banked track at the Del Mar Fair Grounds on Saturday Feb. 6, something that has been a league goal since our inception in 2005. The Mitten Kittens traveled all the way from Michigan to help us debut our track to the San Diego fans. Thanks to the support of SD we had an extremely successful night and sold out tickets to the event! This is a truly historical season for SDDD and we plan to continue selling out our banked and flat track games so please get your tickets ahead of time – we don’t like turning you away at the door!

SDDD is already undefeated in 2010, having won our first two games. SDDD’s Wild Corps (a mix of the Wildfires and the Hard Corps) took a win from AZRD on Saturday Jan. 23 on the flat track with a final score of 133-78, defending SDDD’s win against AZRD in 2009. SDDD’s second win was on the banked track against the Mitten Kittens during the banked track debut on Feb.6, with a final score of 193-58, SD.

What's your Number? 703
What do you love the most about roller derby? I grew up always wishing I could play a contact sport where I could legally knock people down like the boys could. I love the feeling after realizing my efforts brought somone to the ground.
How long have you been skating? I've been skating for a year now. I'm proud of how far I've come and can't wait to see how far I go.
What is your "Day" job? I am an Administrative Assistant for a property management company. I tell people to pick up thier dog poop.
Who's your favorite derby doll and why? There are WAY too many amazing Dolls to choose which one is my favorite. They all inspire me in different ways but I am pretty partial to Tramp Stamper as she introduced me to roller derby and is one of my best friends.
