About me: Samantha's Sacrifice: To uphold her family’s honor, Samantha Adams agrees to take her runaway sister’s place and marry wealthy rancher Blake McCarthy. But when he claims no knowledge of the wedding contract, she finds herself in desperate straits to support herself and her adopted daughter.
Having lost his wife and son during the war, the last thing Blake wants is another wife. And when beautiful Samantha Adams shows up at his ranch on the pretext of honoring a marriage contract, he believes she is only after someone to take care of her and her daughter. And he is determined it’s not going to be him.
Neither Samantha nor Blake are prepared for the attraction they feel for each other and both intend to fight it to the bitter end. But when passion sparks into flame, neither can deny their love for one another.
LAST CHANCE FOR LOVE:
Leah McKenzie wasn’t about to run away again. Over the last few years, she had run and run. But no more. And when notorious gunfighter Wade Forbes agreed to help get her herd to market, she was sure she could save her ranch. But who would save her from her dangerous attraction to the handsome gunfighter?
When Wade Forbes agreed to help Leah and her father, he decided he’d do his good deed, then move on. But he’d not reckoned on falling for the lovely Leah. Knowing he wasn’t right for the young woman, Wade knew he had to leave. But could he ride away and miss his last chance for love?
Who I'd like to meet: [[ REVIEW I ]]!!! Last Chance for Love is a wonderful read. The description of the land, to the characters, all the way to the food cooking, can be experienced by the reader. I love the romantic chemistry that shines in this story. The dialogue really delivers. The story is beautifully written with a strong plot and all the makings of a great book. The absolute longing Leah feels for Wade dances in the pages. The secondary characters help round out the storyline. I was completely captivated by the romantic story that Sandi Hampton pens. From the holstering of the guns, to the showdown, the west comes alive in this thrilling tale.

[[ REVIEW II ]] Reagardless of what genre you enjoy reading, Last Chance for Love is one not to be missed. I‘m not the typical western romance reader. In fact, up to a couple years ago I just didn’t read them. In recent years, I have come to appreciate and enjoy them and this book has gone to the top of my list of favorites.
Ms. Hampton crafted wonderful characters in this tale. I didn’t rush through the book and I’m glad I didn’t. It allowed me the time to really get to know these characters and savor their uniqueness. They won’t be soon forgotten. McKenzie’s feisty western temperment was perfectly enacted but not overdone. She is still very much soft and female. Wade Forbes is definitely a hero to fall in love with. He has his Alpha tendencies as a hardened gunfighter should, but he has a quiet strength about him as well. He doesn’t always say whats on his mind—not until he needs to.
Secondaries can pose problems for authors whether they are just mundane and tedious or so interesting they steal the show. The other characters in this book added just what was necessary to the story without being over the top. From the loyal cowhands to the sultry Consuela and on to the baddie of the story, these secondary characters satisfied their roles and added the necessary flavor to make this a complete and fullfilling tale.
Last Chance for Love is an endearing story worth reading more than once. It is well-plotted and written in interesting language. I loved that it is listed as a sweet romance, yet there is enough sexual tension to keep you turning the pages to see how these two get together in the end. It’s a story of learning to trust and learning to love. I applaud Ms. Hampton and look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Review by Cindy K. Green
Ms. Sandi Hampton has done a great job with the plot of this story. Her storyline is different from anything I’ve read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her characters had some problems which caused enough suspense to keep the book interesting. Her characters were so believable that even the bad ones were interesting.
The book moved swiftly and was exciting to read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a historical romance.

Samanth's Sacrifice Review I : It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a good western romance novel. Oftentimes, the heat is present but the realism of the era is absent. It's not enough to be told the elements exist. I want to be transported back, to experience the journey firsthand. Take me to a time when the land was untamed and roads were paved by the wheels of wagon trains. I want to lose myself in the pages, to be a part of a past that is so incredibly fascinating yet so often forgotten. Author Sandi Hampton's incredible offering, Samantha's Sacrifice" is exactly the brand of story-telling I'm talking about.
The tension between Samantha and Blake is presented right from the start. It's apparent they are attracted to each other, but upon the realization, they each try to deny what they desire most. Unlike other stories in which you become distracted or agitated by the rift, you'll ache instead for the losses that have left them scarred and unable to trust. It's heartbreaking at times, but heartwarmng at others. As the old adage goes, there can be no joy without sorrow. Ms. Hampton should be given full praise for her ability to present a hero that you want to dislike, but can never fully seem to. Blake's action are what drive Samantha away time and again, but even as he lashes out, you realize it's a self defense mechanism, ensuring that he doesn't allow her to find a place in his heart. Of course, a hero is only as good as his heroine. Samantha is a woman that is everything women of that time had to be--strong, proud and courageous. Of course, there are plot twists and colorful secondary characters that ensure you won't want to stop reading. I sat down to read this story when I woke up this morning and didn't stop until I finished. Yes, folks, it's that good. Samantha's Sacrifice is a beautifully written romance that everyone will enjoy. Be sure to place this one on your TBR list.
