KuhnStoff
Saxophonist and composer Alexander ‚Sandi’ Kuhn has written a lot of new music during the past few months and wants to present it to a broader audience. His compositions move on harmonically modern paths, but are often rooted in plain and simple melodies. To make his musical visions come true, he gathered some of the finest young German jazz musicians.

Christoph Heckeler (piano) and Alexander ‚Sandi’ Kuhn (saxophone) explore the art of playing in a duo setting. Their music turns out to be an intimate dialogue between two soulmates who share their inner feelings on a musical level. (www.myspace.com/hktwoo)
Boston Collective
The Boston Collective met in the summer 2007 for the first time to play music outside the USA. Luxembourg pianist Michel Reis, Munich guitarist Michael Vochezer, Düsseldorf Drummer Dennis Frehse and Stuttgart saxophonist Alexander ‚Sandi’ Kuhn know each other from their time at Berklee College of Music in Boston and already played in several ensembles together (Hal Crook, Joe Lovano). The band is completed by German bassist Axel Kühn. It's not only the shared time in Boston that unites the musicians, but also their enthusiasm and their way of thinking about music. Music is regarded as a means of communication to convey and evoke in a creative way exciting, beautiful, but also thoughtful and sometimes sad emotions. The music of Boston Collective consists of original tunes contributed by the band members. Since Dennis Frehse has moved to Japan at the beginning of the year, Axel Pape and Julian Fau will replace him on this year’s tour through Germany. (www.myspace.com/bostoncollective)
