About me:
Sandra is a Fitness Professional and has been instructing group fitness and one-on-one training for 20 years. Sandra has co-produced a series of exercise videos, Back In Action, developed special for older adults and first time exercisers. Currently Sandra works for 24 Hr. Fitness in the Sacramento area as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, and works nationwide as a 24 Hour Master Trainer. As a certified fitness instructor, Sandra is a dedicated and enthusiastic instructor who strives for excellence in all her endeavors. Sandra and her husband
Chad, enjoy traveling, competing and relaxing together. He is her biggest supporter and was thrilled to see her compete in WTF events.
At the 2001 Western Challenge in Los Angeles, Sandra won the overall WTF Tri-Fitness Title as she took first in Grace & Physique and Fitness Routine. Her first competition in the WTF was at the 2001 World Challenge in Las Vegas where she came away with a sixth place finish out of 144 competitors. Her other past accomplishments include First Runner-Up in the 2000 and 2001 Fitness America ESPN Series. In 2005 Sandra was the overall first-place winner of the Women's Tri-Fitness 2005 World Challenge, held July 8-9 in Las Vegas.
A little know fact about Sandra is the fact her mother wouldn't let her play sports or take gymnastics because she was afraid she would get big legs, so, she put her in ballet. Despite this, Sandra has one of the most powerful routines in the fitness industry!
Sandra is very active in the community as well. She runs Sandra Augustin Sacramento Sisters or S.A.S.S. Which is a community based fitness group. It started with Sandra and just a couple of other women getting together to workout at a local high school track on Sundays, and has blossomed into over 300 on our mailing list. If you are interested in getting on the mailing list please contact Debbie at darevs@comcast.net. We meet and workout every Sunday from 1 pm to 3 pm at Kennedy High School (Florin Rd. and Gloria Dr.) in Sacramento, California. Participation in these workouts is always free to everyone. The workouts consist of conditioning for stamina, agility, speed, and strength. In addition, S.A.S.S also sponsors and/or participates in various workshops, seminars, and events pertaining to fitness throughout the year.
In the spring of 2007 Sandra put on the Hero Challenge. The Hero Challenge is an obstacle course and skills test utilizing equipment and techniques from fire fighting, law enforcement and military agilities. This fitness challenge includes an obstacle course and 3 skills stations.
It is conducted like a Strongman competition where competitors, two at a time, race against the clock to complete their task. Spectators get to cheer on their favorite "Hero" during the event. 2007 Hero Challenge proceeds went to benefit the Sacramento Children’s Receiving home. Check back because we will post the date of the up coming Hero Challenge in 2008. We hope you will come and participate. It is a fun event for the whole family.
