About me:
Adventure runs in my blood: I'm a descendant of Henry Hudson and Lappi reindeer herders. But soft adventure is what I grew up with, and it's where I've staked my claim, as Florida's expert on hiking. Walking more than 2,500 miles through the Sunshine State, I can tell you what's hilly, what's swampy, where the wild things are, and what's just plain weird.
I'm an author with 20 books in print and numerous magazine articles on the outdoors and travel, and run several websites for niche Florida enthusiasts, including my Florida Hikes!; the official website for our National Scenic Trail, the Florida Trail, and Genuine Florida, where I'm posting dispatches from my backroads and byways Florida travels.
