San Glaser ist eine Künstlerin durch und durch. Organisch und geheimnisvoll, warm und tiefgründig, beseelt von einer Hoffnung auf das Gute. Nach ihrem Solo-Debüt „Never In Vain“ von 2005 bricht sie mit ihrem zweiten Album „New Road“ nun auf zu neuen Ufern. Denn es berichtet von einer Texterin und Komponistin, die gelernt hat, sich selbst und in ihre Stärken zu vertrauen, von einer Sängerin, die ihre innere und äußere Stimme gefunden hat, von einer Songwriterin, die aus ihren persönlichen Erlebnissen kleine klingende Kunstwerke erzeugt. Nach einem Studium in Jazzgesang, Harmonielehre und Gesangspädagogik, nach Chart-Erfolgen als Sängerin der Jazzkantine und vielen Erfahrungen, u.a. in der Band von Soul-Entrepreneur Stefan Gwildis, erzählt ihr zweites Album von dieser spannenden Neubestimmung – erdacht mit Musikern, die ihr schon länger nahe sind. „New Road“ deckt ein breites Spektrum an Zutaten ab: Es gibt wunderbar leichte, gehaltvolle Jazzsongs, aber auch überraschende Ausflüge in Blues, Folk, Soul und klassische Singer-/Songwriter-Texturen. Dabei ist alles zu jedem Moment immer voll und ganz San Glaser: sinnlich, exotisch, lebensnah. Und vollkommen natürlich. „Ich schaue mir immer lieber den puren Himmel an als ein Feuerwerk“, sagt sie. So kann man auf diesem Album eine Künstlerin neu, wieder und weiter entdecken, die unbeirrbar dieser „New Road“ folgt – einer Straße, die mit Ehrlichkeit, klanglicher Wärme und substanziellem Tiefgang einen individuellen Blick auf Jazzmusik mit einer dezenten Popnote findet. After her 2005 solo debut “Never in Vain” she now sets out to explore new horizons with her second album “New Road” – the reflection of a lyricist and composer, who has learned to trust in herself as well as her strengths and has come to terms with both her inner and outer voice. On the album Glaser’s personal experience comes to life in the form of melodious pieces of art. Apart from her completed studies in jazz singing, harmonics and vocal pedagogy, she has contributed to several successful chart entries as singer of Jazzkantine and has gained a lot of experience – among others in the band of soul entrepreneur Stefan Gwildis. Conjured up with musicians she’s been close to for a long time, her second album reveals all about the exciting revival of her vocation. On “New Road” you’ll find many facets: light, resonant jazz songs as well as surprising journeys into blues, folk, soul and classical singer/songwriter compositions. Despite the great variety it’s all San Glaser through and through: sensual, exotic, full of life, yet completely natural. “I always prefer looking at the pure sky rather than fireworks,” she comments. On this album you can experience and rediscover an artist imperturbably following a “New Road” full of honesty, balmy tonality and profound substance, with a decent pinch of pop added to her very own interpretation of jazz.
