With her self proclaimed brand of 'Dirty Pop' and songs described as all fur coat and no nickers, Sandra MacBeth will celebrate the release of her much anticipated Debut album, Conjugal Scene on the 17th October, on the second floor of beautiful vintage venue “Sloans”, just off Glasgow’s Argyle street.
She will be performing songs from the album with her full band, and support from Burlesque dancer ‘Daiquiri Dusk’, and Beatboxer Danny Ladwa, AKA ‘LyrikooL Lipz’ hosted by Glasgow’s very own Ewan MacLeod.
A perfect example of new contemporary song writing in Scotland, Sandra MacBeth’s “Conjugal Scene” expects to be an inspiring release for 2009.
“I tried to approach this album as an upbeat, honest representation of life and love. Emotionally I put myself on the line and musically tried to push the boundaries to see what might happen”.
Conjugal Scene is a heavy musical mix, from the Pop driven “Ya Hoe”, to the Balkan influenced title track, “Conjugal Scene”. This album is an emotional, beautiful narrative, covering everything from love, loss to the quirky human condition
