Sandra Melody was born in Bradford West Yorkshire to Jamaican Parents. Her love for music came from her father 'Mas Maroon' (From Maroon Town in Jamaica) had his own sound system, and would hold blues dances in the town that she grew up in. This is where Sandra was introduced to such an eclectic and timeless range of music "On a Sunday after church" after dinner my dad would have his friends round and they would have Sunday Dinner and play dominoes" after a while my father allowed me to select and play the music." "Reggae got under myskin and I was hooked, and rap was like listening to Shakespeare! I felt something inside me and I knew that this was my destiny back then............
Sandra moved to London and signed up to Dread Broadcasting Corporation. The label owner Fortna (former Manager of the Boom Town Rats) took her under his wing and sent her to Japan for a month of Solid Tour dates. After a year, Sandra didn't feel that progress was made so she left. In September 1999 she landed her first No1 with her reggae take on the 'No Scrubs' track and quickly followed this up with 'Calling My Mansion' (reached number 3).
She continues to record and make her presence felt, 'I have my own style and my own delivery, I believe that music is a mission in my life and as long as I live I shall be walking you through the music on my heartsss................
