   About Sandusky
Sandusky’s Blankets On The Green, Green Lawn, allows us to show a new side of the sounds of RSC. Comprised of Joseph Hansen and Corey Ryan, the duo offer touching music, that is very reminiscent of the state of Colorado, where they reside. I first saw this album at the Breakdown Book Collective, while waiting to hear another great Colorado band, Pee Pee. What drew me to the disc was the generic, paper sleeve, store bought cd-r, and particularly the name of the album. In listening to it, I realized how appropriate the title was for the music contained on the disc. In all of the songs that make up this album, you can feel the soft, languid summers, that make up life in Colorado. Floating between a meditative calm and a sweet sadness, Blankets On The Green, Green Lawn is a wonderful album for quiet days spent lounging on your lawn, or in a park. Sparse insturmentation, consisting mostly of guitars and vocals, with the occasional keyboard or drum added in to round out the sound, the music still manages to be full and expressive, without going overboard. Sandusky seamlessly bring together many different sounds, without falling into any true categorization, and merely present their songs and thoughts without any hint of pretension involved. It’s these things: the minimalist instrumentation that fills so much space, the sincerity of the lyrics and songs and the state of contemplation that they bring with them, that brought me to contact the band and see if they would be interested in releasing the album with RSC. I hope that you enjoy Blankets On The Green, Green Lawn as much as I have, as Sandusky is definitely one of the undiscovered gems of the Colorado music scene. -cut and pasted from Joshua23 over at ropeswingcities.com

Bootgazing Vaquero Manifesto

I. All actions must produce the tendency to ponder one’s boots thoughtfully. (or Converse occasionally.)
II. No reins before any reins. Genre limitations are creative limitations.
III. Consider the space it represents, tumbleweeds of any kind should be free within it.
IV. Aspire to encompass the ideals of one or more of the following.
a. Nudie Suits
b. Space Suits
c. Adobe Coats
d. Road Trips
e. Android Federales
f. The American West
g. Cowboy Boots

V. Process before product but not before road trips. Highways are a vaquero’s driveway.
VI. Presets are stagnant urban products; manipulation is a rural survival process.
VII. Keyboards are kin to banjos, and slide guitars are genetically the same as samplers.
VIII. Less vaqueros are often more vaqueros.
IX. Mistakes are cosmic fortunes.
X. All creations would be at home on an AM radio in a pick-up truck driven by Brian Eno on the way to an open ranch or at a rodeo held by Gram Parsons.
XI. No good horse thieves stare and share.
XII. Mexican standoffs are best won by refurbishing culture, recognizing the advantages of working within a limited range of possibilities, and reconciling with repetition.
XIII. “Anything that doesn’t take years of your life and drive you to suicide hardly seems worth doing.” Cormac McCarthy

1 month short of a year since tunnel time, topeye, and i'm 60 Numazu came together in denver, colorado like a clan of rabid badgers with intent to combine ambient and jazz music in such a way that it might inspire scientologists everywhere to rise up in falafel war.
despite the distraction of a tasteless but funny poem written on the larimer lounge bathroom wall, Numazu fearlessly and successfully noodled in the backwoods swamp of their collective mind.
thanks to rope swing cities derrick hart, justin robert, kate morris & kirill nikolai have destroyed the walmart gnomes (you know them nasty little things that hide in the store encouraging customers to buy a bunch of useless crap) in the form of a courageous little music group called Numazu...
