"Going 4th on to New Horizons !!!.. ....Eight and a half years after releasing their first album "Hourglass" at "Cropredy Festival" in 2001 and five and a half years after releasing "Crystal Ball" their 3rd album Sandwitch have finally recorded and released their 4th Album Going 4th ... On to New Horizons..... .. .. .... Casting spells on audiences since 1997........ ....Formed in October 1997 in the North-West German city of Oldenburg, the Anglo-German Folk-Rock-Duo "Sandwitch" have since been described as having created a "staggeringly unique sound that is incredibly pure, almost mystical which mixes haunting vocals with fine instrumentation, becoming all the more amazing due to the fact that there are only two of them".....Phil Daniels Folking.com 2004.... ....When Buddy Freebury and Andrea Hallier formed the duo Sandwitch It could be said that this was "Sandwitch MkII" as Buddy had also used this name for a duo that he had formed back in 1988. A project that lasted only two and a half years and spilt during 1990. "Sandwitch MK I" apart from playing folk related music had almost nothing to do with the Mk II Sandwitch......... ....Sandwitch have developed themselves to become musical story tellers taking their audiences on magical trips to mystical places. Their name could suggest that they are in some way connected to the dark world of the occult, however this is not the case. They are both just projecting their love of.. ..the world of fantasy, as stories, often turning everyday events into "fairytales"... ..They have worked hard over the years to combine their vocal, instrumental and songwriting talents to produce a very pleasing mixture of superbly self-arranged traditional, contemporary and self penned songs......... ....Their debut album "Hourglass" was released in Aug.2001 at "Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival" at which they also played which still remains one of the highlights of their musical career to date. This led to a series of.. .."Benefit" concerts in Groningen Holland where they supported "Fairport" twice, once in November 2001 and again in 2002 and the English Blues/Rock Legend Steve Gibbons in November 2003......... ....One of the highlights of their career in Germany was playing at the "Oldenburger Kultursommer" 2002 which is a free culture festival which takes place in and around the city center of which was at the time their "home town", Oldenburg during the whole of July attracting thousands of visitors every year..... More recent festivals have included Whitby (fringe apearances), Stainsby Folk Festival (2005), Burntwood Folk Festival (2005) and the most recent appearance was at The Two Rivers Festival Chepstow (2009).... ....Since the release of "Hourglass" "Sandwitch" have added two albums and a maxi CD single to their discography …. Spells & Charms in 2002 "Charmed Tales" (maxi single) in 2003 and their third album Crystal Ball in 2004, which they see as a milestone in their recording career as it mainly consists of self-penned material........ ....All the albums have been reviewed by Folking.com and received acclaim well above Andrea and Buddy's expectations........ ....New Album Going 4th ...
