Thank you Sandy for displaying your photo exhibit at the Voices Warehouse in DBQ. You might call it a lot of work, but for me it was pure happiness. Let's do it again!
Thank You for the add and Thank You for being a friend of the Band Lockren. We hope you are having a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you very soon.
Sandy Dyas's portraits from her book, Down to the River: Portraits of Iowa Musicians is currently being featured at the Voices Warehouse during the month of May. Sandy moved to Iowa City in 1987 and began documenting the area's vibrant live music scene, with its distinctive combination of folk, blues, roots/Americana, and rock sounds. The photos in Down to the River exhibit capture her twenty years of photographing live music venues and shooting portraits of musicians in and around the city, resulting in a collection of images as compassionate and honest as the music itself.
Sandy's photographs present both the sweaty intensity of live performances and the more contemplative moments of individual portraits. Take this opportunity to get up close and personal with this phenomenal artist's photos in a unique gallery space.
Hey Sandy, Just wanted to invite you to a show I'm playin' in Iowa City tomorrow night. Short notice, I know, but it's at Quentin's Bar at around 9pm tomorrow night. Never been there before and don't know what I'm in for, but thought I'd give you a head's up anyway. Take care.
Hey Sandy, Thanks for adding me as a friend and for your messages. I haven't got myself a copy of your book but will soon. I really dig this pic of yours of Kevin Gordon.
Kevin's one of my favorite performers and I met him when I was in Nashville last year. Sweet guy.
