“A mysterious maze of emotional nuance and mystical melody- Sandy Pringle’s new CD Map of the world is outstanding.”
Growing up in a poor part of Toronto and raising her two kid brothers, was Sandy’s day to day from which she often found escape in her early love of music. Her influences ranging from Billy Holiday, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, and The Beatles to Aretha Franklin and John Mayall And The Blues Breakers were her solace. Her debut CD reflects a compassionate approach to the down trodden to which she has always been faithful. While working for the Court System in the North, she has seen her fair share of the underdogs of society and when she writes, we discover their plight through her wistful lyrics and vivid images. It is a tribute to the loss of youth, the loss of innocence, and the loss of love. Sandy leaves nothing unsaid, her honesty is astounding, and her fans are enchanted. She makes the truth transcend with all of its depths and pinnacles and all at once it is essential and soothing.
She is a regular in the Territorial music scene. Building a fan base for this gifted vocalist happened naturally, as her solo appearances and collaborations are much anticipated. She is a regular at The Folk on The Rocks summer Festival, at which she is participating in a song-writing workshop hosted by Sarah Harmer in 2007. She has also been broadcast internationally on CBC’s The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean, and on Holgar Peterson’s Saturday Night Blues as the opening act for Little Miss Higgins in 2007. And she keeps busy with a regular string of local performances in between.
A collaborator, she co-organized and performed stunningly at The Dream Weavers Concert at The Northern Arts and Culture Center in 2006. Devoted to the spirit of music, in the Boom Boom Room (which she has created in her basement) - a full fledged recording studio and friendly jamming space, she has played with such fine artists as Instinkt, Rick Fines, The Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, Carolyn Mark and Indio Saravanja, just to name a few. Her basement is well known by great musicians who make it up the highway, and with her humor and her hospitality it is a draw and gathering place for local talent.
A poetess, a soulful singer, and a musician’s musician; her music and her new CD is a must listen.
I'm hitting the road in a couple of weeks to raise money for War Child, Coast-to-coast – 50 cities – ALL PROCEEDS TO WARCHILD. Why? 66% of all war victims are CHILDREN. Shocked like me? War Child helps these children that have been affected by war. Check out the new blog – the whole story is up there. Love to have you be a part of it.
You’ll find a Blog, Tour page and a Bio page. I’ll be blogging daily from the road.

Excerpt from #29: Josephine’s Penny Brides (Josephine the Outlaw KIng) ....Josephine didn’t sell hot dogs for a buck fifty. Her stand was a smart operation: rare and bloody fresh for lots and lots. She had lovely Betties. If she was gonna have them she at least wanted them to be something she’d really like to gander at as well. She like the number eight. It was like a racetrack and she liked ’em built for speed. Yeah. Va Va Voom. If you were fair, your hair was black. Dark skinned, platinum locks. Red hair was the default. Went with everything. Nothing in-between, extremes only. Something you wouldn’t see everyday. Modern day pin ups. Jumping off the garage wall, fingerprints, pin pricks and all... **** read the rest of the story so far. click the pic below.. ......
