Soundsamples on this site will be updated/changed regulary after a new CD is released! Roine Sangenberg was born in Landskrona, Sweden in 1956. He began to play guitar and percussion inspired by Ravi Shankar & The Beatles at the age of eleven. In 1980 he traded the guitar for keybords/Bass. He changed between different styles of music and bands: 1968-1972: Rock (influenced by Jimi Hendrix, The Who & Deep purple),1973-1975: Symphonic Rock (influenced by Genesis & King Crimson),1975-1980: Fusion/Jazz (influenced by Weather Report, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra). He created a breaking new band called Änglamat (Angelfood) with Thomas Elfstadius, Thommy Öhlund, Sven Vikokel. At that time Fusion was growing around the World. 1980-1981: Electronica. In 1980 He formed a new band with Gert Sperlish, different from the previous bands. "The gate to the stars" (influenced by. Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno & Klaus Schultze). Since 1981 he focussed mainly on mainstream Jazz and Folkmusic. One of the bands was "Gaida", playing Folkmusic from Macedonia. Another one was "Joy", playing modern jazz. Since 1989 he also has been writing music for various stage plays and movies. Parallel he has worked and toured with Margareta Granvik (Jazz-singer). Lots of dance performing works with the Choreographer Susanne Andersin. (the photo below)
Currently he also is playing with Ray Adams (Celtic harp, vocals, flutes, keyboards, percuss.) For live perfomance Roine & Ray also have Patrick Ohlson on guitar and the name on this group is DELTA. Another Group is Willie Mpuenda band. Tour summer 2007. ALSO FROM THE NOVEMBER 2007, A NEW GROUP ITS CREATED AFTER BIG SUCCESS IN CONCERTS. "ALPHA" Its about trad. Swedish Folk music. Roine - Cajoon, Patrick Dahlin - Keyed fiddle, Janne Boman - Ak Guitars.
In November 2007 Cirkus Cirkör came back with a new version of "The Man & the Balloon" to the Theater and tour to France with new music from Roine.
Winter & Spring 2008 Roine also goes out on tour with the performance "Pinocchio" with the group AMOR in Sweden. Summer 2008, Touring with the Jazztrio SPECTRA. Autumn 2008-Winter - Spring 2009 being some Tours & new CD recordings like "The great Adventure", "An Angels longing", "Fire & Water" & "RUSH" with great guest musicians like Joanna St Claire, Ray Adams, Lennart Hjalmarsson, Kaj Backman, Nick Klaman and many more......
