The San Gennaro Foundation is a nonprofit organization first founded by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and producer Douglas De Luca, along with a prominent group of Italian American men and women, to have a positive impact on the community by offering a high-quality, safe and fun family destination through its Italian American Festival. Realizing, with time, that there were so many people in need that were incapable of enjoying a festival, the Foundation expanded to become a charitable organization in itself, benefiting the less fortunate in Southern California and United States, primarily children and homeless.

Through its special event The Feast of San Gennaro LAthe Foundation is working to raise funds for its wide variety of charitable programs benefiting such diverse groups as victims of disaster, entire homeless families and individuals, underprivileged Elementary/High School students and pre-college students, schools in poor districts of Los Angeles, abused children in shelters, and, in 2005, even an entire hurricane-ravaged town in Mississippi.

In addition to its own charitable programs, and with the intention of increasing the positive impact on our society by creating bridges of cooperation among different organizations, other shelters and charitable programs also receive financial support from the Foundation through its Outreach program. As fund-raising efforts are expanded, the Foundation expects to expand its programs reaching out to more people in need in our own communities.

The San Gennaro Foundation is a fully established 501(c)3 organization.
