    INFOS ****************************************** "San/Secret 4th". nouvel album On le pensait toujours en terre asiatique mais c'est au CBGC's Gigors - France que San/Secret s'est installé en un studio éphémère pour un nouvel enregistrement. À la différence des précédents albums, tous les titres de "San/Secret 4th & Friends" ont été composés in situ et avec la collaboration prestigieuse d'une quinzaine d'artistes très inspirés* venus agrémenter de leurs flow, chant, scratch, banjoline, guimbarde,contrebasse, basse, guitare, batterie & machines diverses… ce disque que je tenterais de qualifier "Electro Dubbing Hip-Hop". Un bestiaire sonore qui justement: sonne! *************************************************************************************** CHRONIQUES ALBUM En musique et surtout celle classée en tant que "musique électronique" on guette la perle rare, celle qui aurait le petit différent, la particularité, la fraîcheur qui fait du bien. Eh bien gardez les oreilles ouvertes et la sono au taquet car l'album "San/Secret 4th & Friends" qui va se hisser au-dessus de la brume ambiante est en passe de nous satisfaire*. Pardon mais il n'y a rien à enlever. Ça pulse, ça groove (les beats laissent béats), c'est émouvant, ça souffle, c'est frais, c'est danse et dense. C'est un album collectif - le "casting" des feat. se révèle être un ingrédient qui prend bien à la sauce - et c'est un mélange des influences reconnues éclectiques de San/Secret dont certaines sont à peine voilées: une guitare rythmique sur "Smoking In Beijing" façon "Requiem Pour Un C..", les ambiances Shadow de "Loop Session" ou "Cold Beastie B.st.rd Wicked Rude Boy" hymne aux Beastie Boys. N'oublions pas les titres plus "bande original de film", empreints des fantômes de Schiffrin, Barry, Herman et autre Q. Jones, montés, bouclés, chanté, joué avec machines et instruments. Que soit remercié le chroniqueur du magazine Nouvelle Vague qui qualifia le précédent LP clairement inspiré de The Avalanches, ça a permis à San/Secret de découvrir ce chef-d'oeuvre qu'est "Since I Left You". Well keep your ears open to catch the sound and the album as "San / Secret 4th & Friends" is going to rise above the ambient haze and is poised to satisfy us *. Sorry but there is nothing to remove. It pulsates, it grooves (blissfull beats), it is moving, it blows, it's fresh, it's dance and dense. It is a collective album - the "casting" of featuring turns out to be an ingredient to a great dish - and it's a mix of eclectic influences recognized San/Secret some are thinly veiled: a rhythm guitar on "Smoking In Beijing" style "Requiem Pour Un Con" by Serge Gainsbourg, the atmosphere of DJ Shadow on "Loop Session" or "(C)old Beastie Bastard Wicked Rude Boy" anthem to The Beastie Boys. Let's not forget the titles more "soundtrack", ghost steps of Lalo Schiffrin, John Barry, Bernard Herman and Quincy Jones played with instruments and machinery. Praise to the "Nouvelle Vague" magazine columnist who described the previous LP of San/Secret clearly inspired by The Avalanches, it has allowed Frank San/Secret to discover this masterpiece, "Since I Left You". Now could he take draft of a comparison?
